Re: [Server] Xanadu
Buck up! I've survived at least three different map-wipes on the Xanadu server. Granted, the current map is the only one where I haven't had a fully-functional space station. Hmm... Perhaps there's a causation link there... I build a space station and somebody runs the trench, and then blows up the ...

Re: [Server] Xanadu
I just swapped out computers and got the shiniest version of Minestest. Turns out the v5.x clients can't reverse-engineer a v4.x server. So is there any plan and/or timetable to switch Xanadu to v5.x? I realise that this could force another map wipe (I don't know if the v5.x servers can still use th...

Ok. New edit on the script to install v0.4.16-dev on Fedora. Tested good on a Fedora-23, 32-bit system. # make sure you have the packages to compile with su -c "dnf install make automake gcc gcc-c++ kernel-devel cmake libcurl* openal* libvorbis* libXxf86vm-devel libogg-devel freetype-devel mesa...

3D models to Minetest schematics
I'm wondering if there is some utility that could take a 3D model (in any format, but raw triangles is probably easiest) and turn it into a minetest schematic. The idea is that nodes of a certain type are created if they intersect with the edge of the model and/or fall in the interior of the model. ...

Thank you for the license information.
Yes. all of the submodules have been imported, per that forums post. Indeed, the server would not be able to get so far without the code from those other modules.

What license(s) is this released under? Of particular interest is the licenses for the "skyblock" and "skyblock_levels" mods. EDIT: Additionally, trying to get this running locally: When running in new world, shows up at location set by 'static_spawnpoint', falls onto the floor, ...

Re: [Game] Technic [technic_game]
Please read a couple post back from the end of the thread in case someone posts a workaround. Say, the previous post has a workaround. To wit: The workaround is to edit the last line of /technic_game/mods/plantlife/trunks/trunks_settings.txt so "roots = false" Then: go to /technic_game/mod...

Re: Xanadu Server
This is supposed to be a family-friendly server. Political discourse is something that kids outside of high-school are too young to care about and will drive away the adults that help keep the server on an even keel. Not to let those few go who have abused the situation, but I suggest everybody drop...

Re: Xanadu Server
Great stuff, Mystik! I've been hoping for that sort of map for the last two Xanadu maps! On the old map, there's a few sites to point out: Midville, at 5000,4,0 is owned by me (Neon) The Evermore Maze is at 6530,10,0 (the pale circle is the tower that the scavenger hunt inside the maze had pointed y...

Re: Xanadu Server
Unlikely, auouymous. With the last map wipe, no player information was kept (which means those people trying to store things up in their bags are out of luck). This also means that each person will have to log in with a fresh password to "lock in" their username for their exclusive future ...

Well, Instead of adding another ABM, can I "overload" (to use a programming term) the function from the original mod? In effect, replace the function in the other mod with one of my own? Additionally, the code in the above post also does not work: - on a shiny new server (none of the moonr...

I'm trying to replace a mod-specific node with a more general one, from a different mod. For some reason, I can't seem to make it work. From home/.minetest/mods/my_mod/init.lua: if minetest.get_modpath("moonrealm") then -- Make moonrealm soil the same as dirt minetest.register_alias("...

On another note, I'm wanting an architect and will pay them handsomely, even if they only give me ideas, etc. I can give you a hand. I specialize in modern / Sci-Fi buildings (which can be a challenge, since the Owner(s) have intentionally moved away from providing nodes towards that). Example Buil...

Re: A little review of Xanadu :-)
Thus equipped I went out in search for an open space to settle down - and found none. The near surroundings are very occupied. Here I'd ask for an admin to maybe unprotect and advertise abandoned builds for reuse? However, I decided for a direction and walked straight on for some time until I found...

Re: Can we please have reasonable scaling of formspecs back?
Somewhat related; e.g. GUI scaling:
I had a point where operator error created a GUI scaling of 0. This caused a GUI crash upon startup. Can we please have a code snippit that sets a GUI Scaling to a default value when it detects an invalid value for the GUI Scaling.

Simulating other games with Minetest
(( Brought over from the 0.4.13 discussion )) I think Mintest is just a clone of Minecraft that is free no matter how much you update [...] nearly indistinguishable from Minecraft other than it doesn't require Java to run. This is not true, as Minetest is simply a sandbox game engine, it is not requ...
