Re: Forum usage question - direct/private messages?

Welcome. I think that's a spam protection which will go away either after some time has passed or a certain amount of posts were written. Try to give a feedback on some mods - maybe that will unlock the feature for you ;)

Re: Obsidian Glass Rendering Error ?

There's no Minetest version 4.17. Please check whether it's an official binary and consider updating to the most recent version 0.4.17.1 or the upcoming 5.0.0-dev for more features. However, this does not solve the visual issue which you reported in the initial post. Using this PR (5.0.0-dev only), ...

Re: Suggestion : Clean up the Minetest Log

Set the log level to "none" if the warnings annoy you. These are warnings because it could be a problem in future releases - because they can turn into errors there. At the end they'll have to be fixed anyway.

Re: Can an item to have both durablitiy and amount?

Technically, a stack can have wear and a count greater than 1 at once. The problem here is that wear and the metadata applies for the entire stack. This means that when you split the stack, it would only be logical to have two identical stacks with each 1/2 the amount. In this case, the metadata and...

Re: Truly infinite worlds (poll)

"64 km ought to be enough for everyone." - Krock, Minetest developer, 2018 Thanks for this input. I hope I'll be still on the list when you use it somewhen in the future again. probably wrong because a "truly" infinite world would in my opinion have also infinitely low FPS becau...

Re: Pacman effect for Minetest's maps

Do you mean worldedge? Jeija's experiment which makes voxel worlds appear to be spherical uses the same mechanism to create the effect of a round map at the world borders. However, the other side of the map is sometimes not loaded or displayed correctly, which results in a flicker effect sometimes.

Re: Truly infinite worlds (poll)

Hume2, this idea was already mentioned in various topics but is finally not usable because 1) Objects can stand in between nodes, so we would need likely a 128 bit floating point number for such big maps (takes much computing time) 2) Breaks the map format. It would need a conversion from old to new...

Re: Formspecs are too tall for my window

The font and HUD scale (size) can be adjusted in the Advanced Settings as well. If some dialogues are scaled differently, then it it's a bug -> PRs here . That the formspec (inventory screen) exceeds the window border is not nice but a result of proportional scaling. Otherwise the buttons would be m...

Re: Formspecs are too tall for my window

Scaling issue. Once upon a time we had a scrollbar to adjust that setting in the settings tab directly. Navigate in the Main Menu to Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Client -> Graphics -> Ingame -> Menus and change "gui_scaling" to something like "0.8", then restart Minetest to e...

Re: Ipv6 Server

For those who will find this topic somehow by searching, here's the IRC discussion about this problem:

However, the final solution is yet not known (that minute takes a long time).

Re: Problems with the opengl video driver

Check what kind of graphics chip you're using, then download and install a recent driver from the seller or manufacturer. If burningsvideo is really the only render which works for you, then you've either attached your monitor cable to a toaster or Windows as no clue what kind of graphics card it is...

Re: Question : How to make inevitable formspec ?

I also thought of Globalstep at first, but then Krock told me it was bad for networking. A short addition to this statement: globalsteps are not ideal because they re-send a formspec more than 10 times per second (0.09s interval by default). This causes unnecessary traffic and also makes clicking a...

Re: Confusion : MT Wiki says different things on Item Meta

Thumb rule: Whatever lua_api.txt states is right.
Both wikis tend to be outdated and are not maintained too well. So I highly recommend to read the direct API reference from the repository to ensure the information is correct.
EDIT: Corrected the ItemStack wiki page

It's not much but it's mine. A little garden exists too (8x12 fields), yet the house needs some interior decoration and cleanup on the outside.

Re: [Server] PRO SKYBLOCK

Changed but IP is d y namic, so changing once at day. To solve this problem you could obtain a subdomain for free, which is then daily updated by a local script on your server. The players afterwards won't have trouble finding the server again. For example: http://freedns.afraid.org/ , https://www....

Re: [Mod]Frame - lag-free non-entity item frames![frame]

This mod registers an item frame for each item and node which you would like to have supported. The limit of ~32k registered nodes is reached quite easily on that way. However, would be possible to loop through the registered nodes (and overwrite minetest.register_node for nodes that were registered...

Re: Minetest 0.4.17.1 (Bugfix release)

Changed to 0.4.x.
