Re: [Mod] Mapgen from geographical data [geo-mapgen] (Biomes

Will this work on android? I've never used Minetest on Android so I don't have an absolute answer, but probably the Lua part will work fine because it doesn't rely on anything external. However the pre-processing part needs a Python installation with Tkinter and GDAL libs (I don't know whether it's...

Re: Are we not worried that Minetest is depending on MS now?

Removing repos for something else than legal reasons will be extremely unpopular and will make thousand of people lose confidence in Github, and they don't have any significant interest in doing so (boosting Minecraft sales by a 1/50k-ish or less, wow!), as Minetest is a tiny community in comparison...

Re: [Server] Inside The Box [Puzzles]

Imo hardcore parkours can be much fun (or at least more fun than boxes where you have to search for levers and co. (*yawn*)) (as long as there are checkpoints). Parkours are no fun at all. Except if they contain only easy, relaxed jumps like "one block up" or "over a gap of two block...

Re: [Server] Inside The Box [Puzzles]

One poor person spent 3 hours and ~50 minutes completing a box! [...] Yeah yeah you guessed that right, of course it's that one XD. Ah... I think I recognize myself !! Re: Why do I stop the OpenSource ?

Because honestly, if we look at the majority of forks, they either advertise, sell our code or even try to destroy the original project or collect data. And you know what ? His people benefit because we can not do anything because we are idiots. Why piracy? When we voluntarily give them our code an...

Re: [Serious] [Port] Feasibility of a Ps Vita port.

After all Minetest is cross-platform so supporting another OS isn't a big deal. I don't think it's that easy to expand portability further. Writing the port will be trivial in comparison to the various issues that will arise when players from all devices will coexist. Accommodating desktop and Andr...

Re: Minetest Mapper

I have Ubuntu 16.04 and my minetestmapper is working. You need to download and compile MinetestMapper, official version is on Github , you also have the doc at the bottom. In short, download the zip and unpack, then use terminal to place yourself in the directory with cd and run cmake . -DENABLE_LEV...

Re: I'd like to run a stall for Minetest at FOSDEM

I'd like run a stall at FOSDEM to help generate interest in Minetest, and to hand out merch. I've calculated that it would cost me about $360, including merch, so I've added a goal to my Patreon to try and spread the cost of that. [...] Is anyone interested in helping to run the stall? It would be ...

Re: What does English language dominance mean for Minetest?

It would be interesting for everyone to be equal, but do not ask that here. We see that it is generally more in a mentality of domination of others than openness to others on full of subjects. Many you will understand that according to them: _ English dominates all other languages [hiding off-topic...

I can't reproduce it, with latest version all works fine for me. Do you have any specific error message?
Also make sure you updated Minetest and MTG consistently.

Re: [mod] Generic moon of Saturn [saturn_moon]

Interesting mod. The skybox gives a very good ambience, well done! https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/6905002/59956434-39575a80-9488-11e9-8e2a-cad15154364a.png For the ores, why do you clear the ore list and redefine it? Maybe that's not exactly what you're looking for but you could be interested by the online server Inside The Box. It features 100+ short escape game/parkour challenges and you can also create your own.

I've enjoyed participating in this community, and creating a few mods to make things more interesting. Re: [Mod] Tectonic Map Generator 0.2 [mg_tectonic]

It's a regular mod, all that you have to do is to unzip it and place it in your "mods" folder (its location depends on your platform and the way you installed Minetest), and then create a world for which you enable mg_tectonic. That doesn't make any sense to me. I have to select a map gen...

Re: [Idea] a real Earth (if possible)

With Earth being 40000km in diameter, a scaled version could occupy -20000 0 -20000 to 20000 0 20000, which would give 40km on the edge. This scales down by a factor of 1000. Everest would be 8 nodes high. A simple math calculation indeed. But does this work? The first idea on this topic was to gen...

Re: [Idea] a real Earth (if possible)

Spheretest isn't adapted to the geometry of a real planet. It is topologically a torus, which would make the North and South poles coincide. I must contradict myself on that point, I found this map projection that would make possible to represent a real planet on Spheretest, except than each place ...

Re: [Mod] lib_ecology [lib_ecology][git]

I've just tested it today, and I must say, it goes far beyond my expectations. You basically managed to do more or less what I was trying to do in Valleys Mapgen or 30-biomes but never came up to something satisfying: a truly various, yet consistent, biome/plant system, and it looks very good. I've been working on it quite a lot these days, and now I've got the rewritten Python side working as a library, you can find it on the rewrite branch .
