Re: [Map] Stampy's Lovely World

I don't know if you had customized the mods, but a lot of them could probably just be updated from the source to fix a lot of the issues. Yes, everything is heavily customized to make the mini games in Stampy's Funland work. This map needs to stay close to Minecraft on the Xbox 360 around 2015 to s...

Re: [Map] Stampy's Lovely World

Thanks! It's been merged.

I suppose the same changes would have to be made to "mobs" then? Oh well, it's an old subgame, probably nobody cares anyway… :-)

Re: [Map] Stampy's Lovely World

Thanks. I updated the mod to work with Minetest 5.0 for somebody, and wanted to know if I could share the update with the rest of the world. Oh, is it broken with 5.0? I hadn't noticed. I check Stampy game and the Stampy map from time to time with Minetest-git, but I probably did not try "ocea...

Re: [W.I.P][Map] Stampy's lovely world

I realize I'm going out on a limb here, but does anybody know what the license of the oceans mod is. It's included in the Stampy game, but doesn't have any license information I can find. I think I wrote that for the Stampy game specifically, so you can regard it as Public Domain/CC0/WTFPL or whate...

Re: MacOS Homebrew install did not work.

It depends on whether the app needs any outside libraries from /usr/local/ or if it is fully self-contained. I guess you can try and if it does not work, download one of Neoascetic's builds, they should have no Homebrew dependencies for sure.

Re: MacOS Homebrew install did not work.

Open Terminal.app and run

Code: Select all

open /usr/local/Cellar/minetest/0.4.17.1/minetest.app
It used to be the case that the MT app showed up in Launchpad (after running "brew linkapps"), but I think this funtionality has been removed in Homebrew unfortunately...

Re: On which desktop OS do you play MT?

Windows 10. I play a lot of games which I cannot play with Linux. But I had Linux on my Notebook(my second computer). But if I don't want to play games any more one day(only Minetest or other games which I can play on Linux) I would switch on Linux. You could also dual-boot Windows 10 and Linux as ...

Re: Post your Minetest story

I became interested in Minecraft due to the South Park episode in late 2013 (though I never actually purchased MC until years later) and started watching Stampy's MC Let's Plays on YouTube. One day in January 2014 I saw "minetest 0.4.9-1" pop up in the Arch Linux feed of updated packages, ...

Re: [W.I.P][Map] Stampy's lovely world

OK, what I have done now is created a separate GitHub repo with worldmods for using this map with MineClone 2: https://github.com/mdoege/stampy_map_mineclone2_worldmods It's not perfect, but that turned out to be the easiest and quickest way to get this map to (mostly) work with MC2. Important note:...

I have your alias about 50% covered: https://github.com/maikerumine/gt2mc2 Also, I have a texture converter to replace all the textures back to original MC, But not released yet. F.Y.I. Feel free to get a head start. Thanks, maikerumine, I'll look into it! Flying over Stampyworld, it looked like ma...

Re: [W.I.P][Map] Stampy's lovely world

you could release a modified version of MCL2 to go with the map........ Then I'd have to maintain two games instead of one... I think what I might do is add instuctions to the first post on how to switch the map to MC2, along with a block aliases mod and a link to a good texture pack. Then users ca...

Re: [W.I.P][Map] Stampy's lovely world

why don't you use the MineClone2 subgame for this map ??? I might do, I have certainly considered it. Unfortunately MineClone2 now uses different textures than MC default, and I think mobs no longer have the original MC sounds. So in some ways MineClone2 looks and sounds less like MC than Stampy ga...

If it's the former, then it's my fault.
Apart from that listbox styling with the blue background, it uses the system defaults.

Re: [Tool] GUI for installing and updating mods from GitHub

The scrollbar is tiny and there's a font which is white on light blue. I use Python 3.6.1 Yes, I have not tested this with a dark theme like Breeze Dark. But I have added a flag on line 16 in gitsync.py, maybe you could try setting that to False. Then the listbox should no longer be light blue. col...

Which version of Minetest are you using? This map's subgame is a bit heavy, but it should not "jam" MT entirely, just take a little while to start up.

OK, looks like we can simply always clone with "--recursive" by default, so this is an easy fix. :-)

Anyway MT Sync could check if it needs to use --recursive to retrieve submodules from other gits? A few favourites have changed to modpacks with recursive links to their sub mods.
Can you point me to an example mod pack that uses this? I need a test case.

I'm not sure what you mean by "coordinates to bulk"… (°_°)

Re: changing display_gamma has no effect / brightness-settin

Gamma can be changed in range from 1.0 (brightest) to 3.0 (darkest) [ http://wiki.minetest.net/Troubleshooting#The_screen_is_too_dark ] I personally made it little brighter -- from 1.8 (default) to 1.5. But it is, nevertheless, too dark underground. Since December 28, gamma now works the other way ...

Oh I forgot, don't mention that systemd sucks on the Arch forums either. The Arch gods don't like it when their decisions are questioned.

The good news is that installing and running Arch is a piece of cake compared to its touchy forum etiquette. :-)
