That's normal. The 0.4 use remote textures hosted on the server (if I understood well).
As the old servers don't send you the textures, the game use the "unknown block" texture everywhere.
I can't say more, I don't really know so much why It does that.

Hi!

FYI, 192.168.1.8 is a local address so that means we can't connect to it.
5.92.148.56 is your public address and this the one you have to give to the players.

Concerning your server, I tried to connect to it and it failed. Maybe you didn't open the port on your router and firewall.

As Calinou said, you have to fork the project to add features and mods.
If you want to test unofficial features, you can browse github by looking for Minetest's forks and compile them.

Guys, my mother uses Ubuntu and she doesn't know anything about debugging and such.
GNU/Linux is not only for nerds and geeks anymore. :)

By the way, did you find the debug.txt file Scott?

Hi!

Concerning legal stuff, just ask first the original author if you can convert his texture pack for Minetest.

Then, if he agrees, you can upload your texture pack somewhere like Mediafire or Megaupload and then share the link here.

Yes, you better have to run the game in a terminal so when you put a teleporter somewhere, his correct position is printed in the output. However, I agree the fact that teleporters should be connected by an ID otherwise it takes a lot of time to set them up correctly. You should map the teleporters ...

Hi!!

Regarding french translation, I already did that so instead, you can manage a Debian package and send it to a repository for Debian.

jachoo : AWESOME!! Good work man!! The only thing is, when the player is teleported, he spawns in front of the second teleporter. You should rotate him in the way that the second teleporter is behind him when he spawns. Otherwise, setting up the correct positions on the teleporters is pretty annoyi...

Compress the "world" folder of the game in a .zip file and upload it somewhere he can download it. Then open the bin/debug.txt file and paste his content on pastebin or something like this and put the link here.

No, it would be easy. No guns needed! Just craft two portals then assign them by right click and write something like this : "<portal_name>,<portal_assigned>" So, when the player goes through the first portal, just memorize his acceleration and teleport him to the second portal. Then, when...

I'm sorry but mod =/= fork. A fork is a new work derivated from another one. It will not necessary do the same thing. E.g: Minetest-delta is a fork of Minetest. It's almost the same game but with new stuff under development. These things may not be added on Minetest. A mod is just an add-on for the ...
