Re: [Poll] Which language do you use in Minetest?

Also, I noticed that v0.4.14 doesn't have "en" as a language-choice. Blank means system-default, and if that happens to be german, the only way to get english seems to be to select something else, and then delete the file for that language... I've tried to add that in different way, but m...

Re: user data directory

sfan5 wrote:Generally all Windows builds of Minetest are compiled with RUN_IN_PLACE=1 which means that they expect to save user data in the same folder as the binary.

Are you sure? I think Minetest save user data and world data in separate folder. Like normal compile.

Re: Virtual Meetup

Right it looks like the votes are definitely leaning towards a dedicated world with the potential second choice being Tox, making it the main audio alternative to mumble. garywhite has already said he does not/cannot use mumble, so if nobody objects we can move towards focusing on Tox as first tryo...

Re: Google knowledge panel

Indeed, Google only looks from well-known site (such as Wikipedia and other site which provides information about the subject). Actually in Google Search Indonesia, Minetest in search result (not in knowledge panel) is more structured than MInecraft. But as Nathan has said, Minetest lacks in knowled...

Re: Minetest as an experimental tool for neuroscience

Is there a way to change that maximum values? You can, but you need to change engine codes. It's already hard-coded in the engine code ( src/script/lua_api/l_object.cpp ) to " Prevent abuse of offset values (keep player always visible) ": // Prevent abuse of offset values (keep player alw...

In which app are you posting this on? Minetest or Forums.Minetest.Net?

In Chrome web browser, https://forum.minetest.net/

I think this should be database error. Because no matter what the browser is used, it will give the same error.

Re: will this run minetest

I think it will run Minetest (even with lag sometimes). Make sure you close other unused app to add more room for MInetest. I've tried to run on Pentium 4 2.8GHz with only 1 GB RAM and it still worked well (10~15 FPS in 40 nodes of viewing range).

From your gameplay video, this subgame looks amazing, I'm waiting for those PR to be merged. P.S. Your GitHub repo is full of backup files (files with ~ on the end of filename -- are you a Linux user?). You can delete it and create a file called .gitignore in the root of your repo and add this line ...

But I can't add empty directories in git. There have to be at least one file inside them (as in minetest mods/mods_here.txt). Or is there a special option in git, that I don't know? Re: Minetest as an experimental tool for neuroscience

I mean the relative position of the camera. In set_eye_offset(offset_first, offset_third), I found that after y=15, offset_third doesn't change any more. Yes, it does. As stated in docs/lua_api.txt : * `set_eye_offset({x=0,y=0,z=0},{x=0,y=0,z=0})`: defines offset value for camera per player * in fi...

Is it possible use a fixed camera? or at least change the max distance of set_eye_offset() in third person? I'm not sure about fixed camera. Also, if you mean "max distance" is viewing range, you can set it by pressing Numpad - or Numpad + or add this line into minetest.conf: viewing_rang...
