Re: ANNOUNCE: "THE TERRARIUM" Server

NOTE: THE TERRARIUM is permanently down due to its irreversible dependence on crash-causing mods (namely mg and pipeworks). It will be replaced with another creative server within the next week. And now, has been replaced. I, and hopefully you, will start rebuilding new stuff for THE CREATIVE GARDE...

Re: [mod] kaeza's/VanessaE's signs library [signs_lib][git]

You're talking about z-fighting. That's a minor bug in signs_lib, the entities that display the text just need to be moved a little further out from the sign (they're so close that they just exceed irrlicht's/minetest's positioning precision limit, that's all). It's just a glitch I've been meaning ...

Re: Free PIZZA Server

Pizza Server was great, had fun with a lot of people, it's a shame the griefers destroyed it, I did my best to list the offenders on my "PK Monument" near the spawn point. Pizza Server was also the main influence behind my server, the Creative Gardens (incl. its two predecessors), and prev...

Re: [Mod] Farming Redo [1.22] [farming]

I can't get cotton seeds to go past Stage 1, it's been half an Earth day and I've planted them in a lot of places, hoeing the ground first (they become extremely hard to see as the regular green dirt takes over and the cotton plant does not grow). do you also have a water source near them? all plan...

Wow. I had no idea there was such a thing when I set up my similarly-named server.

Re: [Mod] Experimental mapgen [mg]

This mod does add some nodes though - all of those will become un-known nodes if you remove the mod. But if mg is being integrated right now, wouldn't the nodes be there correctly when you download/compile the latest Minetest version? I'd rather keep mg as long as possible. The nodes that are being...

I upgraded homedecor_modpack when I first installed signs_lib.

Re: [Mod] Experimental mapgen [mg]

Hello all! The mod was moved to minetest-mods, so you can expect more frequent updates or bugfixes now ;), even if mg is starting to get deprecated... Is it safe to remove this mod from a server which used it from the beginning? Are the villages and biomes already in existence or does this generate...

Re: [mod] kaeza's/VanessaE's signs library [signs_lib][git]

As long as you're using the current code, it shouldn't have any negative effect on old signs, particularly if you're talking about a world that's never had any version of signs_lib installed. That said, what's the problem? The server has the latest versions of homedecor_modpack and signs_lib, and e...

Re: [mod] kaeza's/VanessaE's signs library [signs_lib][git]

After recent server and mod updates I've run into a problem with signs, but I'm not sure if homedecor/signs_lib is to blame or not. Before I file anything on github, does installing signs_lib affect the normal wooden signs in any way (the one in the top left corner)? The problem I'm having is true o...

Re: [mod] kaeza's/VanessaE's signs library [signs_lib][git]

Great idea! Does signs_lib revert whatever happened to homedecor c. March 2015, where the side-to-side unlocked wooden signs don't work anymore? (I noticed the tickets for the homedecor bugs were closed in light of this new mod's creation.) Also, if I was to update homedecor on my server and install...

Re: Creative mode memory use question

You should find the optimal balance between the variety and data amount. Some servers throw heavy mods in, like ambience (much sound data) or wallpapers (much image data), which causes long loading times and a high memory use on client-side. If you look from server-side, it's more important to chec...

Creative mode memory use question

Hi, As administrator of a Creative Mode server ( THE TERRARIUM ), is it more "polite" memory-use-wise to have less objects in the game (i.e. by throwing the other 98 of an object out via unified_inventory/unified_inventory_lite) or will things be worse? I know adding possible objects to th...

Re: Minetest on Steam

Steam accounts might be the best global accounts available. A system where you can only log in through proprietary software, taking ~20 seconds to log in, is the best system now? And what happens to my rights as a server operator? Does Steam hold priority, and can they shut my server down? And the ...
