Re: PvP in gewissen Zonen deaktivieren

Hallo
Wenn du nicht nur im Spawnpunkt PVP deaktivieren willst sondern auch an anderen Stellen kannst du dir mal meinen Mod anschauen:
http://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12754
Für deine Zwecke sollte aber der Mod von TeTpaAka reichen.

Re: [Mod] Formspex [formspex] - Consistent Backgrounds

@orwell Anyway, I'd like to cite the other part of my message (which was the reason to post it): To speed-up your code, try using a table. Just populate it with the pieces of a formspec and then use table.concat. ^ This is really important. Just try it and you'll see the difference. Sorry, now I un...

Re: [Mod] Interact [interact]

A nice idea and a nice mod! Two things that could be done better: 1. Why is the player kicked if he doesn't agree to the rules? There should be an option to show a message to the player that he can only look around the server if he does not accept the rules instead of instantly kicking (or banning) ...

Re: PVP active in one or more areas

I implemented PvP active/inactive in areas in my mod:
https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12754
Either use my mod or write your own mod.

Remember that the register_on_punchplayer() does not exist yet in stable 0.4.12, it is available in 0.4.12-dev only.

Re: [mod] More advanced area protection [denaid]

In latest development version, register_on_punchplayer was integrated. Callbacks can return true if no damage should be dealt. That is what i will use. I will push a new version soon with the API and PvP-Protection enabled IF register_on_punchplayer exists. (for the ones that compiled minetest on th...

Re: [Mod] Forceload Lib [forceload_lib]

Thanks! I have seen this mod some time ago. I will look at your code to improve my mod. Thousands of signs on a server? I think the on_step of these signs will consume much more time than my iteration. The mod was originally (or still is) a helper for my elevator mod. (see [url]forum.minetest.net/vi...

Re: [Mod] Elevators / Lifts [elevator]

Edit: this post is from 1.0 times and therefore outdated!

It is not that difficult to build elevators.
Actually it IS fun to encounter elevators on a server, because all messages are printed to everyone (chat_send_all). It is a WIP Mod!

Re: [Mod] Forceload Lib [forceload_lib]

I don't know how far forceloading allows map generating. It would be possible, but combining with this mod is not useful.
Are you able to write mods?

Re: [Mod] Formspex [formspex]

The name was confusing to me, maybe put: [Mod] Formspex [formspex] - Consistent backgrounds Thanks. I changed the title. It is One Thing to concat strings while registering nodes (i.e. at a server startup) and The Other Thing to do that every time someone opens inventory. Aside from additional calc...

Re: [mod] More advanced area protection [denaid]

EDIT: This post is outdated, see below. Actually I need help. I just can't find a way to make players receive no damage from other players while still receiving damage from monsters. A simple way would be to make players completely invulnerable. If someone has an idea how to implement, please post. ...

Re: Node metadata inventory is only updated every 2 seconds

The bug has nothing to do with owners! If i understand your posts right, the bug applies for locked chests only because of an display-only-to-owners system. This is not what I think. I was using the "default" mod of minetest_game in another subgame when discovering this bug, and it appeare...

Node metadata inventory is only updated every 2 seconds

Although this should be a common problem, nobody is complying about it. Situation: server running locally, client running in an extra process. Version: 0.4.12-dev from today(2015-7-5). Process of putting or taking items into or out of metadata inventories: 1. In client: moving the item. 2. almost im...

Re: “<invalid multibyte string>” on most signs on the Minema

I had that invalid multibyte string problem too: server hosted on a windows machine, any linux clients got only invalid multibyte strings. found out that this is about umlauts like ä, ö, ü, ß. windows saved these in an encoding differing from utf8. of course, other windows clients could read them, b...

Re: [0.4.12-dev] Inventory movement using shift

Don't know if this is important, but if you define a listring from the player inventory to the "craftpreview"-slot, the item is put there, and only after about 10sec the item is put back. doesn't work for simple drag-n-drop. (actually, it is not useful to define a listring to the craftprev...

Hi there

Hello everybody. I found Minetest some months ago, looking for a Minecraft-like game that is free and open-source. I already had some experience with Lua, so Minetest looked good for me. After stealing together some mods and experiencing the game, I started writing on my own mods. Actually I am almo...
