Well, the message of the command says the new skin can be the same by random chance. This just feels awkward to read. Even if it's rare, it's a bit stupid. Thank you! :) I need to write a proper in-game guide at some point that explains the sword and other gameplay. Every time you hit with the sword you get a little boost in the direction where you're looking. As long as you can't actually float away that way it's fine and I do like that you can use it...

Then it's propably not called with a delay. Try putting it inside a minetest.after.
minetest.after basically puts "run that function" on a To-do list for later. The code after the minetest.after call runs right away.

player.hud_remove(handle) won't work since the player has to be passed as argument by using a colon instead of a dot like this player:hud_remove(handle) . Minetest has security mechanisms which prevent io.open and some other functions from accessing files outside of your world folder and your mod folder (I think, didn't try it). I managed to fix this by going to the dope sheet and aligning the keyframe that controls the arms and legs with the keyframe that's responsible for the whole body falling. It's still weird.
