There does not seem to be a way to change the inventory text color from the client side.

That is strange. I just re-cloned it and had no trouble at all. I even took out run in place to be sure that wasn't an issue. And now it magically works here too... Hmm... this is weird. I'm having the exact same error.

The weird thing is I have a working Minetest build directory already, but can't get a fresh clone to find any of those libs either.

PilzAdam's version removes objects once the game loads the entity. It is way more efficient than checkiing every N seconds.

It still worked last time I checked. If it does not, feel free to bump that thread with a bug report (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5073#p75272).

That's because sounds are sent to client during load time. You cannot add sounds at runtime, sadly.

Single player also uses client-server architecture, so you cannot hack around it.

You missed the line containing the actual error. It should be immediately above the stack traceback.
