I don't really care how the menus look as long as they get the job done. What I would really like are the options in the second mockup (and other options you currently have to edit in the config file to change). For what it's worth, I like the icon method of selecting the game that was recently intr...

I haven't timed it, but I think connections to my server time out after 5 minutes or so (I don't know if this is controllable by a setting). So waiting more than 5 minutes is pointless.

That happens to some people. I don't know why and I don't know how to fix it. My best advice is to try again later.

In minetest.conf, have "dungeons" in mg_flags.

I don't know what dungeons are like in Minecraft, but Minetest's "dungeons" make me think more of small ruins than dungeons. They would be a lot cooler if they were bigger (and had monsters in them, but of course that would require mobs to exist first).

Hmm. If Matrix01 decided to upgrade the parts in his computer, would doing so be cheaper than getting a new one (provided that he doesn't get too excessive, that is?) For something that's something like 15 years out-of-date, it would be extremely unlikely for that to be worth it. Better just get a ...

There's a typo in line 58 of init.lua:

Code: Select all
bject:get_luaentity().physical_state = true

It should be:

Code: Select all
object:get_luaentity().physical_state = true

This causes the server to crash if it gets to that point.

This server was down as a result of a power surge for a while (about a week IIRC, because I kept forgetting to restart it). It's back online now.

cannot open C:\Documents and Settings\rick\My Documents\Minetest\minetest-0.4.7\bin\..\mods\mobs\init.lua: No such file or directory init.lua. It's missing. I think Windows Explorer by default adds an extra folder when you extract Zip files. That might be the problem. Look in the mobs folder; it sh...

the releases section only lists mods with copyleft licensing That's not true. Copyleft is a form of license which requires you to share-alike (i.e. not release proprietary versions; you have to use the same license if you redistribute). Permissive licenses like WTFPL are accepted in the releases se...

Please don't use the "ND" or "NC" clauses for the software portion. In fact, I don't think you should use any Creative Commons license for the software at all. Use a permissive license (lots of people here use the WTFPL, but there's also the Expat license or CC0) or use a proper software license tha...

All you need to do is compile it. I'm not familiar with OS X, but it's a Unix system, so it can't be that hard. Just install the dependencies and "make".

You probably want to compile the source code. The only builds available are really old.

Automatic translation is crappy. Maybe if you had specific sets of messages so they can be properly translated, but otherwise, not worth it.

webdesigner97 wrote:Yes, I found that out some days ago. I accidently mixed the licenses between forum ans the mod itself :/ I already fixed that in Github. The real license is CC-BY-SA 3.0 unported. I'm very sorry about that!

You can not hear of the terminal as a GNU/Linux user. It's just that knowing about the terminal makes it easier for people to feed you instructions for how to do something.

There are some discrepancies in what license this is under. The first post says it's under CC BY-SA, the readme says it's under CC BY-NC, and "license.txt" is a copy of CC BY-NC-SA. These are three different licenses, and only one of these (CC BY-SA) is a free license. I'm not sure what the legal ef...

This mod is old; you should use the Animals Modpack ("MOB Framework") or Simple Mobs instead. the Animals Modpack has fish, and you can have just the fish by only enabling the fish and mobf mods.

I seems to me this mod should be moved out of Mod Releases, since it's obsolete now, shouldn't it?

Bounties are great. Money for the guy who does the task, the task being more likely to be done for the guy offering the bounty. I don't think it wise to add business aspects to an open source game. Nonsense. Business is already heavily involved in other free software projects; people are payed to wr...
