Linux is not an Operating System per se. Tell us which distro you are using. For example, I use Xubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit.

Re: How do I get the velocity of a player?

How about attaching an invisible LuaEntitySAO to the player, and then manipulating that SAO? Kinda hacky, but might work.

We don't have to go back at all.

How about fixing the Alpha rendering crap that causes the transparency to be messed up, which was a problem that was directed at the Irrlicht level?

Re: Quest for Higher End Graphics Support

If you hired just *one* game dev, he would recommend unity3d, as it is the fastest and easiest way to just start making games. TBH, if you are looking to make a voxel game for selling, you would go with higher end packages and stuff for the game. But with Minetest, which is free and entirely open so...

Re: [game] Some game ideas I currently have in development [

Oh dear, I was already thinking of a subgame like this. Looks like I was too late in implementing it =/

In any case, go ahead! I'm very excited for this, and will look forward to active development in this style.

Re: Tedypig's General Discussion about being new to Linux

Just saying, my dual core 1.9 GHz Celeron 1005M kicks ass. 45+ fps with shaders and shiz enabled, with a nice high viewrange. I also ran a server on it with heavy mods such as mesecons and the like with low lag. If you are looking at AMD APUs, I'd recommend the 4.0 GHz Kaveri. It has enough power fo...

Re: Android Dongle?

You'll need to connect the two PCs via a local Wireless Network, or a normal Local Area Network. At a given time, an android phone can either broadcast an internet connection via wifi (hotspot) or via a USB cable or bluetooth connection (tethering). Re: Minetest:Xbox One and PS4 Edition?

How hard is "official" anything on Steam? I mean, you can play beta software there, already. To get Minetest onto Steam, you need to get a community greenlight, that is, get a significant number of steam users to agree that Minetest is indeed a game that deserves being on steam. With the ...

We had a discussion on Steam. It is too early, for now. However, both Jordach and I* use steam as a game launcher, and play MT while chatting to our Steam pals.

Re: [Mod] Factory [0.4] [factory]

Don't blame anyone for "stealing" a mod unless you have checked the mod codes and textures; Again, this is mostly irrelevant here, as all mods are open-source, and all one needs to do is give credit. This is a free culture environment, you are free to do whatever you like to. Also, please ...
