Re: Some serious questions from a MC server owner

No, there is no central IP banning, and I don't think it is recommended to IP ban anyway.

Re: Some serious questions from a MC server owner

3. Kids - The biggest problem, currently. They will hang onto your server and lag out your other, active players. Sometimes, they will play the game all day long. For the kids reading this, checkout Liberty Land . We have set up our server in such a way that people can play on it, all day even! Rea...

Re: Some serious questions from a MC server owner

Okay. Firstly, welcome to Minetest! We hope you enjoy your time here, and do stick around =) First off: I sincerely appologise, I am certain most of these questions are addressed elsewhere, but I looked around the forums for two days and I simply am not confident I have full, brief, yes/no/brief exp...

Re: What's Minetest still missing over Minecraft?

I'd like to elaborate on my earlier comments. I still say the UI is really, really off in this game. Minecraft had a fairly nice UI before even indev. But this game, I don't know. What's with this overlap? http://i.imgur.com/Fe9aPo0.png The number of things wrong with this picture (my modified fait...

Re: Are we prepared for potential Microsoft harassment?

I would love it if you could keep your stuff limited to a single topic under offtopics. This sort of content of content on a "serious" topic might deter new minetest players =/

Now would be a great opportunity to post replies on all the news story conversation areas on how Minetest is the solution to the problem that Microsoft will be destroying Minecraft. Re: Tips for a Nub?

1. Don't expect a polished product. 2. Expect a friendly community (we won't bite =3 ), but we expect you to search the forums first. 3. Use Shift to avoid falling off a block. 4. Use the official Minetest for android, and not the custom things like Buildcraft, etc. 5. Follow @MinetestCommune on Twi...

Re: AdventureTest for 0.4.10

Hello! We already have a subgame called AdventureTest. (https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9184). =/ I would recommend you change your mod pack's name to avoid conflicts =) Crafting recipe would be nice, but you need to include depends in the first post. Also the title of the post s...

Re: No more pillar up

But then facedir blocks like chests won't facedir... That's right, and that's the most important reason for wanting to build where you stand. Slim panels, handrails etc. are hard to place if you are standing elsewhere. They're even hard to place when standing in the right block. Anyway, I patch my ...

Re: Minetest User Manual.

ok ok, I get the deal. Cool. I'll first finish off the two page introduction sheet that twoelk requested, then get back to the actual manual.

BTW, bin stands for binary, because all the files inside of it are binary files

Re: [Mod] Pie (is not a lie ;) ) [0.31] [pie]

Great mod, am using it on Xanadu server and I changed the code slightly to work with the HUD mod and hunger... Here's what I changed in the item.lua file: minetest.register_craftitem("pie:knife", { description = "Pie knife", inventory_image = "pie_knife.png", stack_max...

Re: Android Builds (ARM, x86, MIPS)

After getting the Jolla Sailfish launcher for android (unofficial, ported to 4.2 devices) on my phone (htc one vx), the game is no longer nicely playable, almost unplayable at in-game night times. Night also makes it very very dark in game, and a LOT of torches (a lot more than what I need for the P...

Re: Invisible Hearts/Health?

Hello everyone, Rhys here with a bug. In my singleplayer minetest-game worlds, for some reason my health is not shown: http://i59.tinypic.com/2a5hs9x.png I have damage enabled, no missing heart texture and creative disabled - so this bug is something that I don't know how to fix. Anybody know why t...

Re: [Bonus] Source code tweaks

Hmm, there is also a third player camera offset in the lua api. You can use set_eye_offset to do that (https://github.com/minetest/minetest/bl ... .txt#L1908)

Here is something I did while playing around with it:

Re: is it normal for FPS to drop when enabling full view?

R7s from ATi are way better than the price suggests... I might buy an R9 when I get around to building my tower.

As for my own current specs, it is a dual core Celeron @1.9 GHz with an intel HD 2500 and 4 GB of RAM. Recommended minimum specs for Minetest. I get a nice enough viewrange

minetest.conf has a fullscreen variable. How hard is it to just implement it in at least the settings?
