btw, I believe there were actually quite a few bugs with the "stable" version. You might want to try the latest -dev version, available through the "download" section of the main page, right below the "stable releases" for linux distros. also, I recently created a "Tron Blocks" mod if you are intere...

try listening to internet radio at the same time. I found it usually had something to do with overtaxing the system. also, try turning on no-clip and fly and try to reach the bottom of the map. these just might work.

Not everyone knows how to compile the source code Everyone ought to learn how to look at the readme and follow directions. Honestly, it's not that hard to compile C++ code that is distributed with makefile generator scripts, supports cmake, etc (unless you're on Windows). doesn't mean they will tho...

Perhaps there could be an unbreakable "coating" applied to blocks that is almost invisible and cannot be broken with tools. That way, the entire building could be protected. This is actually an interesting idea. I don't know how effective it would be in the real world but it might be worth explorin...

You are moving while placing blocks? That is something I don't really enjoy doing. the whole idea is that you hold right click, press a direction key, and instead of moving you, it places the block in a specific way. Oh. I guess I didn't really read the whole thing, but still I would think that req...

I don't see how just adding capes is an improvement. Now, if we could use different player models and have some in-game facility for changing them like we do with skins, i'd call that an improvement :-)

these are the bleeding edge versions, typically. They may have some other features too. I know BlockMen was writing the code to add a third person view to the client. I'm not sure if he merged that into this version, but it is in one of his builds. I'd say download them, try them out, and see which ...
