Re: HELP

First, please avoid this excess of huge text and gif, it looks super aggressive. Where did you place your code? If you add it in a minetest.register_on_joinplayer , it should work. The sneak parameter only controls whether you stop on block edge, so you should still slow down by using the key, but n...

Re: [Forum Theme] Toxic Coal (Dark)

I noticed two more odd things: icode blocks are white, and radically different from code blocks. Is that intended? The upload attachment box is also white, and the labels "filename", "file comment", ... are black https://forum.minetest.net/download/file.php?mode=view&id=23695...

Re: Minetest Forums Dark Theme

Yes it's better now, it looks perfect!

But I have non-blocking errors during installation with Stylus:

Code: Select all

87:2 Expected 'auto | optimizeSpeed | optimizeQuality' but found '-moz-crisp-edges'.
89:2 Expected 'auto | optimizeSpeed | optimizeQuality' but found '-webkit-optimize-contrast'.

Re: Minetest Forums Dark Theme

Nice theme, and very easy to install with Stylus, I did not know this thing. It looks good. The only problem I noticed is the post reply button has green text and green background. (Firefox with Stylus) Yeah I have it too, is it normal ? https://forum.minetest.net/download/file.php?mode=view&id=...

Re: Spawn a new ore

It depends on where you place your code in mapgen.lua . You should place it in the function default.register_ores() (after line 411 for me) if you use another mapgen than v6. The function at the top, default.register_mgv6_ores() , is only used if you use mapgen v6 (I assume you don't) And if you pla...

Re: HELP PLEASE!!

I tried to run your code and the tool did the opposite. When I'm using it, it doesn't give cooldown but its delaying the function. Ok I think I did not understand your cooldown concept at first, I thought you just wanted to call a function with a delay. If I'm correct you want to disallow the use o...

Re: HELP PLEASE!!

Hi, and happy new year :) You should use minetest.after instead of core.register_globalstep . register_globalstep is a very intensive and "dangerous" procedure. It registers a function that runs permanently (at every server iteration) until you shut down the server. Here, each time you use...

Re: timeout desertstone

Hi and welcome to the forum! What mods are you using? It looks like some of them are conflicting, probably some furniture mods or like. Starting at line 2 of your error it tries to register replacements for some blocks of the "homedecor" mod, but it appears that they are already defined. F...

[offtopic] That's very interesting also, I've been to all these places. I like the reference to the Gorges de l'Ardèche, one of my favorite places in real life! Yes it is a very beautiful place. Some say it is only the little brother of Gorges du Verdun but having been to both of them I prefer the A...

Re: [Mod] Map generator with Rivers [mapgen_rivers]

Thank you Lone_Wolf for your message :) And please correct me, but wasn't the valleys mapgen also originating from Gael ? Yes but Valleys has a more complex story. I wrote the original Lua version in 2015, but not the C++. Duane did it and Paramat merged it. I had zero C++ skill at the time, so of c...

Re: [Mod] Map generator with Rivers [mapgen_rivers]

I've merged my dev branch. Mostly internal changes, but also some concrete changes on the mapgen. Notable features: Map centering (really) works. Sea level can change throughout the simulation. This gives a better coastline. Debug in erosion parameters (they were simply ignored!) Changed default par...

Re: [Mod] Map generator with Rivers [mapgen_rivers]

So my question is this, Would you be willing to provide psuedo code for the flow routing algorythm. If my guess is correct, and the algorythm not too complex, I might be able to fold the logic into my voronoi mapgen, where I might more easily determine elevations outside of noise calculations and g...

Re: [Mod] Map generator with Rivers [mapgen_rivers]

@Shad: Thank you very much for your advice. Some of this is actually easier than we think. Yes some of these features may seem easy, but I absolutely want them to look nice (and not all the same), and consistent with the rest of the landscape . For sunken rivers for example, I have no clear idea how...

Re: [Mod] Map generator with Rivers [mapgen_rivers]

I pushed a small update with optional centering of the map (see the mapgen_rivers_center parameter in minetest settings). I have bigger changes incoming on the dev branch, that I will merge soon. I completely changed the flow routing algorithm, to one based on a recent research article. It has linea...

Oh thank you so much for your support! Very nice map on this server. Re: Post your screenshots!

While these innovations I've seen in the last few months are amazing, I have to wonder how practical they are. As much as I love pretty scenery, it tends to get in the way of game play, which ideally gives you as much flat terrain to build on and hunt in as possible. You mostly want scenery to be a...

Re: [Mod] lib_ecology [lib_ecology][git]

The "optional" dependency is based on config options. If you look at the mod settings, from inside MTs Settings menu, you should see an option to enable lib_shapes support. If you disable this option, lib_materials and lib_ecology should work without lib_shapes. I notice that you removed ...
