Thank you for the link!
So, am I understanding correctly that this means a pickaxe is used up more quickly when digging "harder" nodes? So that your pickaxe would wear out a lot faster digging obsidian than digging stone?

register_tool uses

Pardon my extreme ignorance, but I've got a very basic modding question. The wiki says that a pickaxe is good for: wooden: uses=30 stone: uses=60 steel: uses=180 bronze: uses=270 mese: uses=580 diamond: uses=810 But when I look in minetest\games\minetest_game\mods\default\tools.lua I see: minetest.r...

I'm running minetest 0.4.9 on a xubuntu based linux system. I haven't been able to get mesecons to working, so I tried loading the folders one by one and found that I can load most of them just fine, but the following ones cause minetest to lock up: mesecons_lamp mesecons_lightstone mesecons_mvps me...

this is an AWESOME mod! Solved my elevator problems perfectly! I noticed that once I create an anti-gravity field I can remove the generator and the anti-gravity field remains. That is by design I assume? BUT, it leads me to an interesting question. Is there any way to REMOVE an anti-gravity field o...

Thanks spillz! I upgraded to the latest build minetestc55_201403250545-0~2670~ubuntu12.04.1_i386 and now I no longer get an ignore, and yet the cart stops anyway. I now seem to be getting values of air and cobble when it stops. Should be impossible to get a value of cobble, since the only stone arou...

I realized you could use Voxel Manipulator to get a block's name. That WORKS! Thank you VERY much! It seems like the original problem might be fully fixed by this: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/co … 17d44be8fb Please test with latest git. That does sound right. But please excuse my ignorance...

I'm running minetest 0.4.9 on a linux system. carts is the only mod I've got installed. So, I built a REALLY long railway to go from my castle to some interesting scenery where I wanted to do some more building. Gravity only for this rail, about 350 blocks long, drops one block down for every 5 forw...

viewing range

How do I increase the viewing range in minetest? I tried modifying viewing_range_nodes_min directly in minetest.conf, but it went right back to 65. I'd like to try a larger number and see if my computer can handle it.

Had the same "problem". Punch it first - then jump in. It's a bit tricky but one gets used to it. Tricky indeed, but I got it to work. thanks! Is this the way it is supposed to work? In monorail you can setup accelerators and switches, but this will need [mesecons] to work. I tried turning off cart...

Just but the cart on an up/down hill slope and jump in. Just tried it, and no difference in behavior. rebuilt my rails on a downhill slope. cant craft door

I'm a newbie at minetest (and have never played minecraft) so this is almost certainly something I'm doing stupid (or not doing smart) I can craft most other things I've attempted, but when I attempt to craft a door by putting 6 wooden planks in the left 6 columns of the crafting square, by the wiki...
