Re: Forum is now hosted by celeron55 (report issues here)

Now faq.php doesn't result in 403.

I also moved the background image and favicon from the main site into the forum theme. (the main site didn't even have them anymore after it was moved to github pages.)

Re: Setting absurdly long view range

But that light blue artifact in the water is really annoying. I get them all the time. That's an optimization that makes views like this look nasty. The server assumes that things that are pitch black and far away from the player wouldn't be visible or useful and doesn't send them, but as it turns ...

Re: [Game] Dungeontest (very WIP)

I like this! I mean, it's not without its problems -- You're equally fighting the slimes as you are fighting the laggy engine when it decides to generate new areas in the worst possible situations... but the good parts are worth it. Just add a lot more room variety and a goal and it already is a gam...

Heard about an issue: "413 Request Entity Too Large (while making a post in "Post your screenshots"). client_max_body_size needs to be increased."

Re: Forum is now hosted by celeron55 (report issues here)

Just a quick note again: I need to set up mmdb at some point. However, I don't consider this to be a large priority at all because it was already broken before I started hosting the forum, so it can wait for now.

Re: Forum is now hosted by celeron55 (report issues here)

Now the first logins work.

The issue was that phpBB was seeing the IP 127.0.0.1 always for all logins so it thought someone was trying to brute force themselves in. Now it gets the correct IP and nothing related to that is broken anymore.

1) phpBB fucking sucks.

2) The problem reported by rubenwardy is now fixed by this hacky crap: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/7406797/

3) Do you guys know what I think of phpBB?

The forum is now hosted by me and I added a modification that uses a bunch of automated IP block lists to get rid of spam. This should get rid of the unreasonable amount of spam, but it is too early to tell.

Re: Forum is now hosted by celeron55

Now I modified the time during which a post is considered active to be 1 instead of 7 days, as it was in our PunBB days. $sort_days = request_var('st', 1); in search.php. At least hopefully this works. I can't test right now. This is way better because nobody ever cares for week-old activity when th...

Forum is now hosted by celeron55 (report issues here)

The forum is now hosted by me. It uses the default phpBB theme because the Minetest theme somehow broke. You can try to select it in your user specific settings if you like; but as I said, it is broken. I hate phpBB, I hope you do too. It's a ridiculous clusterfuck hallmark of everything that is wro...

Re: Minetest 0.4.12

Update: Sorry Ubuntu friends, it seems the stable PPA team is unable to keep up on the project at this point in time. It's unfortunate. If anyone is interested and able to help with the PPA, that'd be awesome. :) Maybe someone from the unstable PPA could help out? The PPA needs heavy updates due to...

On IRC today: http://irc.minetest.ru/minetest-dev/201 ... #i_4164740

TL;DR: We will have the incompatible changes in a separate branch initially. You won't need to worry about them initially, but you do have to worry about them later.

I updated the development wiki to contain these rules and organized them in a more accessible way: http://dev.minetest.net/All_rules_regar ... evelopment It's not likely that these cause any other immediate things to happen other than the freeze-0.4.12 branch to be created and a few pull requests an...

RFC: Changes in organization

Based on a discussion with nrzkt/nerzhul it looks like I need to refresh things a bit to make sure development will continue strongly in the future. I request comments to these changes: Policy changes/additions: The master branch will not be used anymore for feature freezes. A new feature freeze bra...

I have stated on IRC that we should start using the commonly supported parts of C++11 this year. Now I stated it here too. Not doing so is unproductive. C++11 is a much more tolerable language than C++03. I have been using the reasonable parts of C++11 for two years in other projects now, including ...
