There are already several schematic mods. I suggest you look at them for inspiration, perhaps they are all you need :)

Re: [Server] Tunnelers' Abyss
https://i.imgur.com/alJ8J0u.png On March 7th, a new mod created by myself was added which adds the concept of blocks and items being reduced into their elemental form. Several users have found almost everything now :) Although all blocks are not reducable into their elemental form yet, most are. Mo...

The concept of using only a 32 color palette is really fascinating. And it turned out pretty nice, good job :)

Re: There are too many PRs
There's a flood of incoming code from contributors like me, but the code lies there, around, unused for months or even years. It's great we have so many contributors to Minetest, but I'm afraid a lot of contributions are essentially going to waste. Exactly! We don't have enough core devs which can ...

Responding to the Haters: Finally, if you don't like me or my mods, it's simple, just leave me alone and don't use them. I don't put a gun to your head so you can use them or like them. In a similar vein, I think you should simply ignore anyone who doesn't communicate with basic civility, since it ...

Re: [Mod] Petz [v9.8] [petz]
Suggestion: The cron job should be configurable per petz, turned off by default. This would be very useful because while some animals like cows and pigs should be permanent, little animals like rats, bees could be cleared from time to time.

A big thanks to Diaeresis (AsumFace) for quickly responding to the crisis.
Its a bit weird that people are doing this. Since we banned their whole network, they will move on to another server. Be careful!

Re: [Mod] Petz [v9.6] [petz]
You should probably add an API for despawning. All these new little petz, its not worth it to have lots of beautiful butterflies if they take all your bandwidth ;-) That's not a problem for me, I've optimized everything I could: but for other servers it might be a problem. So the little petz (butter...

Re: [Mod] Petz [v8.30] [petz]
I agree with this, the Unofficial Minetest Discord community is not even close to representative of the Minetest Community (which is in general quite nice). I'm sorry you had such a rough experience, runs. You are badmouthing the Discord without valid reasons and not in an appropriate way. I beg to ...

Re: [Mod] Petz [v8.26] [petz]
That's really weird, maybe you should double check your version of mobkit. Dead animals lose the mobkit brain and all definitions and then dissapear.

Re: [Mod] Petz [v8.23] [petz]
Two bugs:
Firstly, whistle is a global sound.
Second, if you mount a horse, camel, any mountable mob - and lasso it while mounted, you shrink to the size of an ant. I've tried fixing this myself but to no avail so far, even with a minetest.after(function) resetting the player's model to y = 1, x = 1.

Thanks for another game brought back Wuzzy! Now if only Minetest can include some games by default, finally :P

Tunnelers' Abyss now has 11 new mobs also: Dolphin, Shark, Seaturtle, Tropical Fish, Clownfish, Tarantula, Koala, Megalodon, Parakeet, Piranha and the Nyancat.
Nyancats are especially rare, here's what to look for ;)

Re: A third Biome axis
For little rare biomes like geysers, oasis, or even villages, you could just use an ABM or nodetimer that places a schematic or group of schematics if hard conditions are met.
Of course if you want a very rare but dedicated biome, a third axis would be very useful.
