Re: We need more official PR reviewers
What I'm missing myself currently is another coredev who is reasonably active on IRC, which can discuss ideas with me, give a second opinion, etc. What we're missing in general is to finally put this proposal into place. If we have the ability (or rather duty) to judge and reject/accept PRs based on...

Re: Need Help getting my server on the server list
I can't stress this enough: You don't need to set your IP in minetest.conf for server announcing, it will only bring trouble . server_announce = true alone should be enough to have your server appear on the list. If it doesn't that means the server list cannot reach you and you likely haven't forwar...

Re: Saying goodbye and sharing my 1 year perspective
Sad to see you go as you were pretty invested and produced high-quality content, though ultimately not surprising since Minetest development is so sluggish. I'd like to add a few points (but not in a way to disagree with the entire post): Instead, I remember once celeron55 saying something on #min...

Re: Minetest 5.4.0
Oh, I see.
When you said "hosted server" I thought of a standalone minetestserver instance (these definitely still work fine), but if you mean hosting from the menu as stated in the issue then we're indeed aware already.

Re: Minetest 5.4.0
If you have a reproducible set of conditions under which the server will not start up/takes a very long time please open an issue on Github and we (the developers) will take a look to fix it in case of an engine bug or determine the actual source.

Re: Server Shuts Down when clicking on Armor in the Inventory GUI
On 10th March 3D Armor was updated to make use the new Unified Inventory features that were added a day before that (this includes the make_inv_img_grid function). So that must mean you have updated 3D Armor without updating Unified Inventory at the same time. The fix should be simple: Update Unifie...

Re: Restrict access to server to "registered" users
Whitelisting sounds perfect. But both mods assume that the users are already registered and only new users are blocked from joining. How can I edit the whitelist? I don't think the whitelisting mod distinguishes already registered and new users. You can find a list of commands to manage the whiteli...

This functionality is usually called "whitelist", you can find a mod implementing this here:

This comment contains a 5.5.0-dev build you can test: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/1614#issuecomment-800414636 You are correct that MultiCraft supports HiDPI properly (it renders at native resolution), however Minetest's rendering should not be so bad that text becomes unreadable. Re: [Solved] Serverlist: servers.minetest.net/announce not found
Your server's IP was accidentally caught in the DoS filter and blacklisted, I've manually undone that. It should now reliably show up in the list. Advice for everyone : With serverlist-related problems it's best to talk to me personally on IRC so I can look at the specific circumstances, "gener...

Re: [Solved] Serverlist: servers.minetest.net/announce not found
There were some "problems" (nicely put) with the server list yesterday evening until today. It should work fine now. Do not post in this topic each time just because there's an error in your logs. My anti virus is telling me since today, that servers.minetest.net was infected by URL:TechSc...

Re: New MTS format
Because how do you know what to put in that place_offset_y if it isn't stored in the MTS file? MTS files aren't limited to mapgens any more, plus requiring coding a manual place_offset_y makes it harder to replace schematics in mapgens. That's true, it would be more convenient for usage both inside...

Re: New MTS format
A few points: 1. I don't quite get why the MTS format should have an y offset. For use with mapgen decorations there is a place_offset_y that can be defined per decoration and it's necessary there. But if users are just manually placing their schematics, they should set the positions to match the co...

The most important questions here are:
- Can Minetest still open the database file correctly?
- Does the world load but contents are messed up?
- Or does MT throw world load errors?

glTF support has been suggested already, though adding it would not have depended on switching to an Irrlicht fork as we did just now.

Re: MTG 5.4 Mapgen Bug
If I remove the nobiomes flag in a Minebase World, the map_meta.txt file simply gets overwriten and has the nobiomes flag again. (I closed Minetest, edited the file and opened Minetest again). Then "Minebase" (a game?) is changing your global settings and causing them to be wrong for newl...
