Suddenly, multiple installed and clean copoes of 0.4.6 failing
I went to use a 0.4.6 client (Running Windows 7, 4 GB Ram, Intel Processor) I've been using for months this morning and got the following error: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: minetest.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 515eb950 Fault Module Na...

It just occurred to me that what I am suggesting here is similar to the recorder discussion elsewhere in that what is appearing is a need for client side extensions/plugins and some basic services in the server build to support and keep that genre of mod consistent and high quality. Once again, I'm ...

What is with the post dates here...LOL I could understand if the server was displaying local timestamp of the poster, but I posted December 6th above and it says May 29th, then Novacain posted today and his says August 30th--OMG the space time continuum is breaking down and it's all our fault for pl...

@SFan do you see any technical road blocks there? Is it feasible to grab the IP and port and use it as the save file name? @coreDevelopers any reasons you can think of why the recorder feature could/ought not be incorporated into the game? (apart from the need to agree on how to offer the option to ...

AHA !! the syntax /tell <username> <message> works just fine not sure where that is documented, BUT now it is here for whoever might stumble across this post like I did... I found it by typing /help and seeing the commands /say and /tell on the list /say behaves the same as / then typing your messag...

Perhaps the save files could include the initial save date and connection URL [including port] in the file name? @SFAN, is that reasonable/doable? That would still be no guarantee, BUT it might help significantly with sorting things out, especially if folks start saving from various worlds... [EDIT]...

Or a Tourists Guide to Minetest Servers in general...that might make a nice 'sticky' here in the forum, although a structured thing like what I see happening here on the Forum with the Mod inventory would be even better. If there was an interest/need I'd be happy to set up and host YetAnotherWiki bu...

I used 0.4.6 so far because that is the most current version of a MAC client I have found so far, and I don't want to exclude MAC users...(LOL...in particular, my son who finally got a newer MAC that would run the newer client *rolls eyes*) It may well be that his client will work fine with the .7 o...

@Vanessa...I realize that this is an older thread, but it occurs to me that what you asked for still doesn't appear to be available yet, and it is definitely something I'd like to see... Would it not be feasible to have a two stage solution here...the utility is setup to be run either automatically ...

Just for fun and to learn a bit more about our platform, I've taken the sqllite world file as recorded using SFan's recorder client, through the efforts of Sokomine and Aspiremint (and others?) and set it up as a multiuser game world, under 0.4.6...The world is live on the net, as a simple proof of ...

Perhaps we should not think purely in terms of a ladder of superiority...Bronze is used to this day as a maritime alloy, though largely replaced by stainless steel (aka primarily nickel and steel) but to many's accounting still a superior balance of tensile strength, malleability and corrosion resis...
