HAH! Every character-based video game out there is a rip off of the paper and pencil D & D, which was a recycle of Chainmail which was based on civil war miniatures rules...which was ... well not hard to get the point...everything is a rip off from life, which is probably a ripoff from some cosm...

Suddenly, multiple installed and clean copoes of 0.4.6 failing

I went to use a 0.4.6 client (Running Windows 7, 4 GB Ram, Intel Processor) I've been using for months this morning and got the following error: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: minetest.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 515eb950 Fault Module Na...

It just occurred to me that what I am suggesting here is similar to the recorder discussion elsewhere in that what is appearing is a need for client side extensions/plugins and some basic services in the server build to support and keep that genre of mod consistent and high quality. Once again, I'm ...

Seems to me that the inability to serve images from the game server should not be an obstacle to serving links that the client could then use to pull content from a web server and display in-game...sorry I know I am a "Johnny come lately" here and maybe that has all been explored and dismi...

@SFan do you see any technical road blocks there? Is it feasible to grab the IP and port and use it as the save file name? @coreDevelopers any reasons you can think of why the recorder feature could/ought not be incorporated into the game? (apart from the need to agree on how to offer the option to ...

Compile a MAC version of 0.4.8 that works for me and I will ;-)

I *HAVE* been using various versions of the 0.4.7 client, particularly on those occasions when I find my way to Vanessa's server :-P

I found it by typing /help and seeing the commands /say and /tell on the list /say behaves the same as / then typing your messag...

Added to core you mean, no mod required? When I type /msg as admin with /grant all I get an error Invalid command... was the syntax changed, or has it been removed? OR by 'added to game' do we mean that the public messaging is meant to cover all bases? A private message "whisper" would def...

Perhaps the save files could include the initial save date and connection URL [including port] in the file name? @SFAN, is that reasonable/doable? That would still be no guarantee, BUT it might help significantly with sorting things out, especially if folks start saving from various worlds... [EDIT]...

I used 0.4.6 so far because that is the most current version of a MAC client I have found so far, and I don't want to exclude MAC users...(LOL...in particular, my son who finally got a newer MAC that would run the newer client *rolls eyes*) It may well be that his client will work fine with the .7 o...

This modpack is a collection of mods used on Redcrabs server (redcrab.suret.net 30401). It is intended to be used in combination with a "copied" map (using the special client) and contains older versions of some mods plus slightly modified versions so that unknown blocks can be mostly avo...

I have used worldedit to copy 200 x 1000 x 200 towers within the same world in singleuser mode...I don't know if that metric is at all useful, BUT I am definitely curious about how to merge large regions between worlds...has this been somewhat addressed via the recorder approach?
