Re: Mod interoperability (solved)
However, to the general part. As a player who still prefers singleplayer games or multiplayer with just some real-life friends on a private server (yes, I guess I am quite an oldish person) I experience this kind of problems quite often... You really ought to consider looking for a nice server that...

Re: The reason I want to play MC more than MT
People in MineTest are very different, and so they all use different mods! Freedom can sometimes be stressful :-) Don't worry too much about it. It's just that way. Lets also say that I want to play MineTest with a group of people... the outcome is going to be horrible! Everyone is used to playing ...

Re: Screenshot of adware
Thankfully most servers and users try to explain to new players that those ad-infested android implementations aren't the real thing. Perhaps the way they try to communicate that isn't always optimal. And users may feel bad if they discover that they paid for something that is available for free. PS...

Re: Replaceable nodes?
The idea is that it adds a node which can be replaced, thus you can use it as a placeholder when building structures. My handle_schematics mod does that to some degree. Give yourself two handle_schematics:build, place them on the two edges of a structure you want to save, then place a third handle_...

Re: [Mod] Default Stripped [default_stripped]
It's sole purpose is to allow mods that rely on the helper functions to continue working in other games. That's nice. I think we ought to have more libraries that are shipped with the game. Can you add a mod to your game that registers the nodes from default? So that players can choose weather they...

Thanks for adding new moderators! Fighting spam is sadly necessary. I only have time to read the forum each couple of weeks. Any spam found in the past was properly disposed of when talking directly to a moderator on irc.

I don't see why it shouldn't work with 5.3. I'm usually working with latest git and currently use 5.4 where it works fine. I don't remember any particular problems regarding 5.3.Katzenmirzerin wrote: Hi, I solved the problem. It doesn't work with Minetest 5.3, but with another Minetest Version.

Re: too much forum spam
Hume2's idea doesn't sound too bad, but beeing limited to three reports per day might be too low. Hiding a user's posts if there are at least three *reports* regarding that user might work if it can be implemented. Less users than now would have to report the spam. Only users with a halfway descent ...

Great to hear that the mobs will learn how to lie down and rest. Thank you! Chickens a bit more work as the armature animation is in-complete from memory. Probably matters less because they're smaller animals. The larger they become the more they have to do in order to appear realistic. Chicken may ...

Re: Public Remote Media Server Project
Probably not so highly needed as mg_villages doesn't come with many textures. I'm not at all good at texture art and try to get away with re-using existing textures if possible :-) However, having a complete set of remote media data certainly couldn't hurt.pevernow wrote: What about mg_villages?

Third, lag. I tested 1 chicken against a petz chicken and found that (according to the built-in profiler) my chicken causes 124% less lag on average against a petz chicken. Certainly important for industrial-scale livestock farming. At least in an MT world they don't mind :-) And of course anything...

Re: Reasons to build a home
Likewise for this problem again, real life provides the answer. If you build a vege patch off in a forest and come back a few days later what will you find? Wildlife broke\jumped the fence and ate the food. So, add in a random chance of fence breaking or burrowing mobs (australia as wombats that di...

Or - less serious - run a server and let players search, promising them a reward ,-) More seriously: If you have a small map and a limited amount of places where you might have placed the lost chest, tools like the metal detector might probably be easiest, while socerykids' solution is great when yo...

I work in a fablab, and we kind of team up with schools to offer activities to children in both Minecraft and the real world. But more as a hunting bird which is already difficult enough to code. It starts with taming, which could be done be stealing eggs from an eagles nest and raise a bird. Eagles stay 90% of their time in the air, so you would maybe never catch one. Stealing their eggs and rising the birds sounds like ...

Tarantula Rankings (a ranking system that keeps track of how many tarantulas you have killed and how many have killed you) is now live on the server! Re: "Working Villages" in Mineclone2 has unsatisfied dependencies.
The reason I tried to add that in is because in Minetest and MC2, the "villagers" merely stand in one position and turn to face me. I can left click to "chat" and "right click" to trade, but they never move. Any ideas what is causing that? The behaviour you describe is...

Sounds like a nice idea as long as it's not too many people. Also, monthly events are a bit rare. People may forget about the existence of the thread in the meantime. Any server winning the event may quite likely receive a lot more players than those that joined directly thanks to the event; There's...
