Well I was hoping to hold on to the last server longer than a week, but you know how people are :P 5K player files, 3x in landclaims pretty much destroyed performance and corrupted the map :/ There's also the problem with lag in my last space game, I had pretty much worked out the resource tree and ...

Yep and there will be shadow glitches too, due to MT's simple lighting system. It seems that stacked realms will be eventually included in default mapgen v7 Like that thing I tried to do with moonrealm and multiple alien realms? Multiplayer just killed it last time, hopefully v7 ill be faster :-) F...

I still hope you will make a space game and server in future. That could be a bit tricky, my strongest computer can only run one server at a time, the other two can barely handle the client :/ Though i might be able to incorporate moonrealm or some alienized version of paragen into the present map,...

Im not terribly surprised that 5K user files translates into less than half a dozen requests :p

In any case i'll set this server up on a tourist basis first. My wife suggested setting up an area/realm/map where people can try out for build rights, I'll probably do that :-)

Yeah though im not sure if it's going to be a participatory server or simply a tourist one like c55's old server.

I never said they were SuperMen. It's just that MT's code is much more thoroughly checked before merging. Of course but the fact that mistakes happen disproves the notion that only things that are fit gets pulled :P I was just supporting your statement, no worries. That's what I figured, but quotes...

put some of your own stats into it (number of errors, normal fps, cpu usage, data usage, graphics rendering, etc.). I hope that's addressed to the other guy, since i'm not the one making unfounded claims :p But in case it isn't, the issue im referring to is here with the relevant discussion here .

Real researchers usually publish their work along with their conclusions :P I say this because just 24 hours ago, something was pulled to MT that made it totally unplayable. So obviously MT is not immune to pulling "unfit" stuff :-)

Why not just ban the ipaddress??? In my opinion that seems like a logical answer, because no matter how many times they make a new account if they are still using the same PC they cant get in. that can be as easy to change as release/renew or restarting the modem. And judging from my logs either us...

I hate it when people put down a block of cobblestone and say it is their house. You gotta wonder what goes on those 100-mod servers :p Most players seem content using wood, cobble and dirt :p Yes: Better community (it is FOSS) Is a community better by pure virtue of being FOSS? Thanks :-) Though I wish there were more of us. It's sad to say every time I run a server I get the impression most people don't know they're in a building game.

minecraft you have to pay $26 USD. also minetest has a better comunity not as many griefers. MC has more griefers because it also has more players :p The positive aspect to having to pay for an account means the same people can't grief the same servers with multiple usernames, unless they're willin...

Usually, the tool records automaticly while playing. And taking a look at what else has been built *is* important - the new building has to fit in. Of course mapping out huge areas for checking mapgen might be a diffrent matter, if that is what happend. Yeah but you have to understand, if I wanted ...

Any progress on testing 0.4.9dev? Whereas the dirt ridges and cavegen griefing are not too ugly in normal biomes they look bad on the ice sheets, so i'm keen to find out if you can avoid those. I'm going to test the trimmed ice sheets once more then push my changes within the next 12 hours. Caves c...
