You need to increase the 'max_block_generate_distance' setting as well as 'max_block_send_distance'.

Re: question about floating land on the ocean/water?

This is expected in mgv5 and mgv7, they both occasionally generate floating chunks of terrain, if such a chunk is in the water that is the result.
Reducing the 'persistence' of the 3D noise parameters to 0.5 or 0.4 will make floating terrain less common.

Gael de Sailly, This is very interesting. It is a subject i have often thought about. Even your current simple experiments look really good. I did notice your screenshot in the screenshots thread a while ago and wondered what that was. I really like the highland lakes, in the past i tried so hard to...

KGM, Rubenwardy is one of the highest contributing and most trustworthy core devs. Celeron55 trusts him. He discusses CDB development in-depth with others in the IRC development channel. Decisions in Minetest development are not decided by the community or by polls, they are decided by the core devs...

Re: [Mod] Snow, rain, clouds (with sound) [snowdrift]

This mod is completely different to MTG 'weather' mod. The use of particles in 'snowdrift' is network-intensive, particle-intensive and a little problematic, so i am not sure it is suitable to use 'snowdrift' features in MTG. We are somewhat waiting for engine improvements. Particles are currently i...

Re: New main menu design - feedback requested

It is not certain yet if MT will ship with no games, it has just been suggested and 2 core devs like the idea. If it does ship with no games, the main menu will, of course, be redesigned to very clearly guide a user to download a game from the Content Database, and MTG will be clearly displayed as o...

MoNTE48,
I want to apologise for my post earlier in this thread that was offensive to MultiCraft.
It was excessively cynical and i do not believe everything i wrote in it.
I have now edited it to remove the offensive comments.

Re: Minetest graphic rework (logo and such)

There are plans to radically redesign the MT main menu.
Also it is possible that MT will ship with no games (i support this), you will download games using the content database.
Importantly, the focus on MTG will be removed, it will just be another game amongst the many.

Celeron55 needs more donations to cover his MT expenses, so you can donate to improve forum speed.
As is often the case the answer is: It is a free game.

It was difficult when i made the new hotbar textures for MTG, lots of trial and error due to unusual scaling and offsetting.

Re: Swords seem obsolete.

We would like to split MTG content into many smaller mods, and anything that was easily split has already been split.
The only obstacle is maintaining mod compatibility, the huge amount of aliases and complex compatibility code that would be required, which would be a nightmare.
