Re: Favorite mod or subgame or feature?
I would definitely have to recommend the Technic Mod. It adds machines and tools that you can use which can really make the gameplay much more interesting.
I also recommended you check out my Youtube series Minetest Mod Showcase, as it showcases a bunch of interesting Minetest mods.

Re: Unable to configure mods for worlds
After doing make install run it using $ minetest instead of $ ./bin/minetest It shouldn't make a difference, it is just why run in place = 0 was added, so you can install it in /use/local/bin/. It may also add an icon to the start menu. Yep, Minetest now has an icon in the menu, but the error still...

Re: Unable to configure mods for worlds
Aren't you supposed to do a "$ make install" at the end (see rubenwardy's post) when you compile with "RUN_IN_PLACE = 0" ? cmake could mess the build process as well because it's very gifted at compiling with old cached settings rather than the ones you specified on the command ...

Re: Unable to configure mods for worlds
I tried doing a new install and the problem still occurs in the new version. To do the new install I did as follows: wget https://github.com/minetest/minetest/tarball/master -O master.tar.gz tar xf master.tar.gz I then moved the new minetest folder into my folder where I store my standalone applicat...

Unable to configure mods for worlds
I recently updated my copy of Minetest on my Ubuntu 14.04 system by following the instructions listed on Minetest's Github repo under the section "Compiling on GNU/Linux", with the exception of using "-DRUN_IN_PLACE=0" rather than "-DRUN_IN_PLACE=1". The updated copy se...

Re: Support for Multiple Screens / Windows
It would be nice to have support for multiple windows. Personally I use two monitors with my computer and it would be nice to have it set up so one screen would display the normal view and the other could display the inventory or a map. It wouldn't necessarily be very useful for everyone, but for pe...

Re: 3D printing for kids: modelling objects with Minetest
I tried using sfan5's mt2obj converter, however I couldn't find out how to get the script to work. When I tried to run the script it just printed a few lines of text and stopped. (http://i.imgur.com/85PGHwq.png) How exactly do you use the script?

Re: Modding section
MMDB would be better than the wiki if it actually worked and was improved to at least have the functionality of "Minetest Extensions". (Minetest Extensions is the project that MMDB was based on / inspired by. It is in PHP rather than Python. I've wished for automatic entries in MMDB as we...

I tried this mod out and I have so far found it interesting. However I dodn't like the text being placed in the top middle so I decided to move it to the bottom right. If anyone esle wants to do the same they can do so by changing the lines: local h = p:hud_add({ hud_elem_type = "text"; po...

allowe players to easily add thier own music to be played instead of the default music Or just let them turn the music off. Re: [Mod] Fire Braziers [1.0] [brazier]
Ahh, It was long day, let's kindle a fire in the fireplace. >>>snip<<< AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! >>>snip<<< How about creating new kind of fire that doesn't spread out? There is another mod that has such fake fire, but if you want I could add such a type of fire brazier to this mod.
