few months ago, I tried this - an attempt at a mapgen that creates a semi-infinite parkour. :)

Re: Overriding a registration of a block
What Skamiz said, additionally, you need to use minetest.override_item and you do not need the colon at the beginning of the name.
Code: Select all
minetest.override_item("default:dirt", {
drawtype = "normal",
tiles = {"11635.png"},
is_ground_content = true
})

Re: [Server] Tunnelers' Abyss
I would like to do this as well. Several options have been presented to me by flux and I intend to implement something of the likes if all goes well. (of course, since a handful of players don't even care for food, we have to approach this carefully) (1) redo all the food values based on how difficu...

Re: [Server] Tunnelers' Abyss
A big update has been made, completing our recent milestone and adding a Minetest <-> Discord relay bot (thanks to Hume), which is now in the channel #server in our Discord :) Some of the new features include (some of which were added some time ago, but are still part of this milestone): - New and i...

Tunnelers' Abyss has made good use of these functions, the new set_sky stuff is really amazing!Gael de Sailly wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 14:24There are some pretty cool cloud functions in the API, but they are really underused. I'd greatly like to see them more in action!

Re: [Server] Tunnelers' Abyss
As some players might already have suspected...the tarantulas are about to take over! They'll celebrate their placement in the highscore and demand tribute from players in the future. Zeke, lea_argon, and several others seem to be the emperors of tarantulas so far. However, perhaps they are reprodu...

Re: Engine Capabilities questions:
No I'm afraid all boxes are affected. You can make a box with extents greater than 1.5 and it will collide with stuff normally, but other boxes won't be able to collide with it. ElCeejo has made a workaround for this in mob_core providing support for gigantic hitboxes, might want to check that out.

The screenshot explains it all: https://i.imgur.com/LIRWPK5.png Tarantula Rankings (a ranking system that keeps track of how many tarantulas you have killed and how many have killed you) is now live on the server! You can find it in your inventory buttons, with an icon depicting a tarantula. Players...

Re: [Server] Tunnelers' Abyss
The new paleotest (updated for mobkit with many new features) is now live on the server, heavily customized like many of our other mods :) Thanks to ElCeejo for making the mod and helping with optimization. A lot of our mobs have been drastically improved with this update. Also, the server had a new...

Re: Failures of Core Dev and the Needs of Content Creators
this is kind of a strength for the team because we get a very different opinion. Yes, this is exactly what any good team needs - many opinions! If you have a team of 'yes-men' you have no team at all. I have a suggestion. Let's make a Minetest fork and let's merge all PRs there. Regardless of if it...

Re: Failures of Core Dev and the Needs of Content Creators
paramat isn't a bad dev. They seem to do less programming than the other devs but their reviews are usually pretty sensible. They are definitely the most critical dev, and I think that causes a lot of frustration with them @CalebJ I don't see you in the UMTD, I don't recall you being there for abou...

Re: Failures of Core Dev and the Needs of Content Creators
The Unofficial Minetest Discord is not irrelevant here in any respect, in fact, it seems to breed hatred against core devs for one reason or another. Furthermore, this whole topic was started by a discussion on the UMTD. So no - it is not irrelevant at all. What sfan said is absolutely true, and I k...

Minetest is running around like a headless chicken. :-D It is a decadent and languishing project. And everyone sees that. It happens to many Open Source projects. Yes, guys, money moves the world. Well, something improved this last year. I have noticed something. PD: And please stay away from the D...
