Have a lot of people been sharing passwords? Who would ever do that?
What is SCP-055?

Re: [Server] Capture the Flag Server (Guns!) - Multiple maps
I won't name who was involved but it happened recently and it's tedious to deal with for moderators because we don't know who is who…
Another problem is players without password at all (they are very, very numerous) that get their account stolen and then whine about it.

Just realize how bored we would be if the world was perfect.

There's a setting to disable empty passwordsGael de Sailly wrote:I won't name who was involved but it happened recently and it's tedious to deal with for moderators because we don't know who is who…

Re: [Server] Capture the Flag Server (Guns!) - Multiple maps
I find it funny that my account "Demolisher_", which i haven't used in quite a long time, has still managed to stay in the top 50 xD.
BTW: can someone look into player "ooo"? I ran into him recently and got destroyed by him (he dealt dmg so fast with only a steel sword i couldn't eat apples fast enough! And i eat apples very fast).

This screenshot was taken over a year ago, and it may have been a different CTF server, not sure if it was rubenwardy's.
You'll probably notice something off about that picture...
Here's another older one, in the days when you'd get chased by an army of noobs when you took the flag. Nowadays it's rather strong players. Definitely an improvement!

HAHAHAHAHA
check me out nowhere because i never do anything
Re: [Server] Capture the Flag Server (Guns!) - Multiple maps
That is terrible hotbar organizing, i thought a long-time pro would know better :P.DragonsVolcanoDance wrote:This screenshot was taken over a year ago, and it may have been a different CTF server, not sure if it was rubenwardy's.

Also ik the thing that's supposed to be off is that you have a diamond sword, but i beg to differ, that wield-hand just looks so weird o_O
*EDIT: has anyone else noticed that if a player has the word "pro" at the end of their name, then they are a noob?

Re: [Server] Capture the Flag Server (Guns!) - Multiple maps
Are you accusing me of fabricating the picture? :P I can assure you it's quite genuine. That diamond sword was a prize given by a moderator on the server. If you look at the chat closely, you might believe me. ;)Stix wrote: Also ik the thing that's supposed to be off is that you have a diamond sword, but i beg to differ, that wield-hand just looks so weird o_O
Slot number one is actually the best spot to have your sword in, and the champion of the server (Waterbug) agrees with me. If you're being attacked and you're not ready, you can easily hit the 1 key on your keyboard to switch to sword in record time. Waterbug's organization of weapons/apples in his hotbar is very similar to mine, so what did you just do? Call two of the strongest players on the server noobs in hotbar organization!? I'll remember that next time one of us steps on your grave. Hah!Stix wrote: That is terrible hotbar organizing, i thought a long-time pro would know better :P.
Spoiler
-_- That probably won't happen though. I'm actually one of the worst players on the entire server.. so I use hacks to compensate. I even have a special one called ''Waterbug Mode''
Re: [Server] Capture the Flag Server (Guns!) - Multiple maps
Actually key 2 is easier to use, and i just kicked the "champions" butt 3 times in a row and 6 times total in the same match yesterday (with him only killing me once), so hah!
I'll post a screenshot soon of an ideal and perfect inventory management system (the one i use :P).
*EDIT: it isn't just the sword that's off, but everything else, i mean, the hotbar is a mess!

Slot #1 is the only good slot to put your sword in.
Slot #1 would be a good slot to put apples on, but putting your sword there is more important.
Slots 2, 3, 4, and 8 are the best slots to put apples in (although having enough apples in your inventory to take up 4 slots is excessive).
Slots 6 and 7 are best left free unless you need to use them, like if you have grenades and/or apples in your inventory, because they are the worst slots (especially 7) to put things that you would be using often in.

Re: [Server] Capture the Flag Server (Guns!) - Multiple maps
My general rules of thumb for organizing the inventory are:
#1: Keep most used items adjacent to eachother in the first 4 slots of the hotbar.
#2: Keep the entire inventory (not just the hotbar!) neat and easy to manage.
#3: When keeping blocks on hand, add a row of single blocks of the same kind beneath it, so when you pick up more of it it is "automatically" sorted in your inventory (so basically overflow stacks).
#4: Always, always, always!--keep torches in the hotbar; players often underestimate their ability to block bullets or light up potential ambush sights.
#5: arrange extra items in columns under the ones in your hotbar.
#6: If there is a slot that you want to share between two items, keep one of them under the first in the inventory for mid-battle hot-swapping.
And while not related to inventory management: a crossbow with a few-hundred arrows can be just as effective as a smg; and the arrows can be easily crafted in huge quantities for cheap!
*EDIT: Also after a bit of testing i've found the no.3 key is the easiest to hit.

I only use the hotbar, I keep the rest of my inventory empty.
What is SCP-055?

I agree with Stix, everything he said is true and it works.

Very valuable tips, especially #4 about the torches, which I don't give much thought to. Nice!Stix wrote:My general rules of thumb for organizing the inventory are:

I simply cant find CTF fun anymore when i have to deal with a player that doesn't even have to actually hit you to kill you, and that are online the whole time i am.cautiouspotato wrote:why?

I haven't seen ooo playing when I am on IRC, so I have been playing. I think what the server needs is more strict moderators, because pretty much only Thomas-S takes the moderator thing seriously.
check me out nowhere because i never do anything
