as stuff is unable or unwilling to ban this server - we can add other more servers like this, but with just a name that indicates something dirty but just mtg inside and EUBan, and start a list of all IP-Ranges and nicknames that are logging and offer them free on a webpage.
So we might know also the players using that server and people will avoid this game base for this kind of games as they never know if they get exploited.

The side-effect of this flooding with Fake-adult server is beside to make it clear for all other serer admins and players what is happening here. With no hunger or monster mods easy to keep logged in all time and push them up with also special named players. So parents might see much more easy what is going wrong in this community and will protest or leave.

So 15 servers of this kind, and every admin is also logged into the 14 others = most stay top 10 = SEEN clear!

Official report to German and Thai Government is done - here I have to wait.

And we can search for any released press report, stating positive with kids and tell them the new ugly truth.

I've noticed you've recently been advocating for stricter moderating of the server list, especially regarding sexual servers.

Even though we've had friction in the past: Good work trying to get such servers unlisted!

It's really quite ridicules how the serverlist endangers the minetest community by making this stuff available to children and letting naive users stumble upon it only to have made themselfs criminally liable.

Such content doesn't belong in a game who's community is substantionally composed of kids and young teens.

I'm in support of your goal.

EDIT: Small comment to your report to police: Don't count on police doing this. IF the servlist-admins really did make themselfs criminally liable (criminal law is not as transparent as most people expect), then the understaffed German Police will take ages to actually do something. Personally I wouldn't have reported because this may even get in the way of a more diplomatic solution.

EDIT 2: To clarify, as it didn't really get noticeable in my original post (even though I tried to), I'm in support of advocating for removal in the forums, but I did not mean the serverlist flooding. That's possibly illegal.

i have bought a server 4netplayer.de and tried to upload bots... ive tried joebot,pod and zBots... nothing worked... ive edited the liblist.gam and it hasnt worked,too.... do you know maybe what i have made wrong?

I never had tested any bots - I have enough people around to use real true original clients.

the actual facts : that server was blocked ? - I don't find so far,
but this servers Klientel has been contacted into minetest, using mt client and so see all of our servers

does not feel secure to bring my server back 'normal' as before.

Just like now, but unknown password, and blocking new gamer with a mod also - will just gain server-list players and one server. Not my intention after see new low in player and server now also.

maybe offer a show server, no real play, no interaction - just see what we build ? Is also pointing back to possible real server some other port

I use my time to help other today ready install and fix a brand new Socket 1700 PC with M.2 Win11.
Got my own M.2 to run, even double speed with PCIe adapter,
and this afternoon late also got DNSmasq with much better resolve speed.

The discussions show more and more what direction most have to go:
* hidden closed server, maybe seen - but only local, personal known kids - and even that can be broken

* own serverlist for this server, own servers or maybe server collections by some activists with also already offered themes from kids, builders, no kids and adult servers, beside also between creative, mining, hunger (survive) over monster (defend) and PvP (fight)

I follow the discussions,
but many people seam not to understand that the software (minetest engine and mtg) has no problems with the law,
the problem depends on the server and owner and their locations, and might not fix with the law of the servers.minetest.net law (location and owners) so that a US legal server, can't be listed at Netherlands (server-list) at ALL !

And at the end I have to wait for real changes, that will solve the problem, that they may not have understood yet = will take long.

so there are now two ideas in my head:
* I have to use an own separate server for the kids gaming days, as we testet on Sunday (yesterday) as there are still holidays until 14.05. - but that comes with several disadvantages
* I change the source code where server report player and sum, to report sum always 0 or never higher than 3-5 player to avoid attraction by high ranking during kids events. There also set max to 201 will help.

But as slow and wrong the discussion is going on at forum and others - as I see no need to put work in, before a capable solution is found
The more likely after a crash or power off, I might change the code first - but keep server closed for new gamer


beside I see other problems coming up anyway for the next two years, that turn me to focus on other preparation first. The server is fine, secured so far and the solution must be seen in new version as 5.8.0 or earlier to trust minetest anymore.
So see that I could take another 6 Solar-cells is priority to keep the electric bills low and ensure an environment a mt server can still run also.

Stromversorgung:
Seit grob 3.5 Tagen ist die Versorgung wieder stabile 230 Volt. Seltsamerweise ist aber auch die Watt Belastung seither runter gegangen, wie ich an den täglichen Ablesungen sehe.
Obwohl der Solarstromertrag mit nur 27.9 KWh am 30.04. mit am niedrigsten war, ist der bezogene Strom an dem Tag schon auf 5.4 KWh gefallen, und die 2 Folgetage sogar auf knapp unter 4 KWh, Der Schnitt davor lag bei 9,4 KWh am Tag.
logisch ?
* Wenn ein Gerät Strom zieht und eine gewisse Watt erreichen will, zieht es bei weniger Volt mehr Ampere (Watt = Volt * Ampere) aber da am Watt-meter Watt ja auch in Volt * Ampere gemessen werden dürfte sind es die gleichen Watt.
* Zieht ein Gerät immer gleich nach Basis Ampere (oder Widerstand), sind bei weniger Volt auch weniger Watt zu erwarten, und bei mehr Volt auch mehr Watt.
Da die Voltschwankung nur Nachts ohne meine Solar bei 210 Volt lagen, aber am Tag durch den Solarstrom auf um 250 Volt getrieben wurden, sind da dann auch mehr Watt angefallen wenn die Ampere gleich bleiben. Das erklärt dann auch den Mehrverbrauch nach Watt bis 30.04. und zuvor zu Zeiten von Voltschwankungen, bzw. Untervolt Nachts und Übervolt am Tag.
Da die Solarinverter jedoch nach Watt ab-geregelt sind. kommen da mehr Watt raus, die aber früher an die Sperre kommen, ohne jedoch wirklich mehr geliefert zu haben.
Da bleibe ich mal dran.

Nach einer Berechnung gestern ist es wohl sinnvoller die 4 und später die 2 mal 11. Solarzellen auf extra kleine Mini-Inverter um zu hängen.
* Punkt 1 : Die 4 Solarzellen am Hybrid Inverter (PC Raum) werden mangels Verbrauch im Zimmer nicht ausgelastet.
Das ginge nur je Solarzelle mit weiteren 3 Batterien, also 6 Batterien zu je so 4.300 Baht.
Wenn ich aber die 4 Solarzellen zu je 2 an gefundene Mini-Inverter anbinde, und hinter dem Hybrid Inverter betreibe, arbeiten die mit Maximum ertrag in das Netz, das Zimmer bekommt seinen Part, die Batterien werden geladen aber der Überschuss geht am Zuleitung 1 ins Hausnetz. Dem Hybrid ist es egal von welcher Seite der Strom kommt, solange es Netz gibt. Umgerechnet bekomme ich damit statt einer Solarzelle am alten Mini mit so 34 KWh mehr, dann mindestens den Strom aus 2 Solarzellen mehr, also 68 KWh.
Und bei Stromausfall bleiben die Mini-Inverter auch aktiv, weil der Hybrid dann das Netz darstellt.
* Punkt 2 : Eine Berechnung, welche Inverter je Solarzelle am günstigsten ist.
Ein 3.300 Kwh OnGrid Inverter zu 16.000 Baht nimmt 15 Zellen auf, also je Zelle 1.067 Baht Inverter.
Zwei 1.600 KWh OnGrid Inverter mit je 8 Zellen Anschluss liegen dann bei 1.365 bis 1.560 Baht je Zelle.
Der Mini-Inverter mit 500 Watt kann 2 Zellen parallel vertragen und liegt bei 1.075 baht je Zelle.
Aus Geldmangel ist die Entscheidung also nicht so schwer.
Wenn ich also so um 4.000 Baht erhalten kann, ist wohl der Kauf von 2 Mini-Invertern sinnvoller um das Fehlkauf Problem Hybrid zu lösen, und damit mehr Ertrag aus den 4 dort angeschlossenen Solarzellen zu bekommen.
Auch die Einspeisesperre der grossen OnGrid kann ich so verbessern, und die jeweils 11. Zelle(n) an einen weiteren solchen Mini-Inverter zu packen.
Solange ich das Geld nicht habe, kann ich diese Überlegung weiter auf Korrektheit prüfen.

taking Pandorabox as an example where just 4 player with max 9 player max are online but last 24 hours 33 gamer in it looks like every player 1.25 hour online,

It just show the incompetency on the minetest side:

for the adult problem:
* first is that adult sfuff is shown in default list
* second problem, that player of adult stuff can also see and enter all other server

solution:
* so far own kids server (hosting), with advantage
** using internal firewall ufw and block all suspect connections before servers AND for all server then behind that firewall
... that have been detected at even just one of this server group
** reducing leak by separating my server in old gamer, school (old and new) and fishing and maybe 'open' = 5 server with lower risk of reach much kids and also easier to detect and block suspect IP-ranges
* that open server to test, detect players
* not listed at default anymore, even with flags - and if, just the open one
* own manual server-list for this group of internal servers

... somewhere that direction
may have to play around with this options some day and test, if that is possible
... maybe just save that important part of the world by visiting with client, map saving for each group to keep map file small as about 5000,x,5000 is big enough for this years together groups

With all due respect, I believe that the safety of your community, you have taken the best approach.

I've often thought of hosting a server for the kids in my community. I had two ideas about how to make this happen. The first was to disable the server list, which isn't as secure a method as the core devs propose. The second was to host my own private WiFi network to which the kids could connect. This is a heavy investment.

For educators, I would recommend they be on their own private networks, and should redirect any outside calls to server lists, media servers, and perhaps even their own CDB.

As for the current situation, the core devs have taken steps to ensure that the server list remains as neutral as possible, while working to ensure that adult themed content is limited.


But please, no more guerilla tactics.

as limited to most Thai IP-address and during Thai day time, or running when needed - similar to this hosting option, run only when a player is connected would be a possibility

Otherwise I LIKE the idea to let many player get blocked at my servers as password unknown for them, BUT for that I need to set the reported player in the list to 0 (Zero) to keep the server low profile better also and lower the change to block brainless people (not reading the description).

For Server owner with most or more for kids, we should have a better sharing of violations, mean when I detect a misusing player, then we should have a report side for this IP, nick and reason, so other server admins can add suggested problem maker also, or report also and when 3 admins have reported, all others can take this ban for granted !

It sounds to me like a privacy violation to share this information without the user's knowledge or consent, and unethical at best even if you have it in a privacy policy. Not sure what the GPDR would think.

Minecraft has a system like this called "MCBans". It's not considered very good because any petty admin can ban you off many servers for whatever reason they like on very little evidence. Admins who use MCBans plugin often turn off the features that involve this central database of bans and just use its local banning functions.

Also, this only stops people who always use the same username, which if they're troublemakers is unlikely.

Wrong: to share an IP-range or even ISP-Range is no privat information as timestamp is missing !
The same system I also use for ban with EUBan, where the last number is gone, and automatic ban the Range /24.

I did that before under banned.minetest.one : share my important bans with IP-Range and violation also name used, that other admins can compare and if they find the same IP-range with similar reason, they have a easy confirm about that problem.

So every ban mod, that contains the full IP and a timestamp IS then a private data ... oh oh

This stops all people, gamer - independent from their username.

but from 22. 16:33 until 23.05. 17:50 Internet down - we still don't know what happened, service was not at us, but about 20 minutes after they call back, it worked
server was still running, My daughter and me could play there ...
