Server informations :
This server is configured to be a “survival” and “PVP” server, ie you will have to fight to survive in the wild, with monsters at day and night, but also struggle to cope other players!
In fact, the only non-PVP place where you can protect yourself is the starting area. You will therefore understand, outside of this area, the rest of the server is dangerous.
The server is maybe French but, we welcome anyone who wants to improve her French with us ! Whatever happens, you can speak English on our server without any problems but, try anyway to force yourself to speak French, it can only be a good thing ! :)

Our server is characterized by two unique aspects: His map generator majestic and unpredictable but also by the Class Adventurer / Warrior / Hunter (the Wizard is coming soon) available in the game.

The server will make a brief restart every Monday between 3 and 4 am to create a “backup” and to run “clearobjects”.

Client version :
This server requires Minetest 0.4.9 or later or you can´t connect. Understand that the previous versions of 0.4.9 will not work for connecting to the server.

This server uses a mod which disables all numeric usernames and those with empty password (which generates a username as Guest123456). We also disabled usernames with more than 18 caracteres because this created problems.
Finally, it will be essential to fill the password field to connect to the server.

This server is running under Debian 8.x and works with the latest STABLE version of the “Minetest” project on Github.

Default privileges :
home, sethome, spawn, shout

The privilege “interact” and "shout" are not given by default. You need to type /rules and accept rules, need also to type /irc and accept the irc rules.

Some other privileges can be given, but only for players who want to help the community of the server.

Skins / Appearance of your character :
You have access to the big skins base from the “u_skins” mod, accessible from your inventory. We can add skins you like if you send us your skin on the irc, on the forum or in-game.

Build on the server :
You can build everthing you want, where you want, when you want!
However, for the server stay beautiful and playable and there isn’t any conflict :
- avoid build 1x1 towers,
- don’t destroy the ecosystem, if it’s possible replant the trees you have cut,
- avoid loops with the logic tools “mesecons”,
- bugs exploitation is forbidden in the houses closed and protected by area (however, if a door is open, nothing prevent you to steal, at your peril, it can be a trap ! And the chests can be locked…)

Area’s owner :
The server has got the “areas mod” coupled with “markers mod”, which allow to protect areas simply.

The limitations of the “area mod” are 1100m2 of total surface, and 10 areas protected maximum per players. (This limit can be extended)

Language and discussion :
This server is primarily french. This language is the main one but there is no problem if you speak english, for example. If english players rejoin us to explore the server / to improve their french, this is a very good thing, help them! :)

Obvious behavior such as hate speech, insults, harassment, etc... will not be tolerated and will be punished!
We will not stop you from expressing yourself, if you want to talk about political, economy, privacy, etc... Of course you can. However, respect each other.

Adverse actions :
Damages are enable, this server is a PvP (Player vs Player) server, so you can kill another players, from the time you are OUT of the spawn area(= the sphere of the /spawn). A permission isn’t needed to attack other players.
On this server, rollback is enable, and if a player complains, we will speedy find the guilty one and punish him.

Let me be the first to say that this server is great! Good mods, good peoples, and a lot of funny nodes. The only problem is we cannot connect without the 0.4.10-dev, and it's very hard to compile on windows...

Can you add the full list of your mods to the description please?

I strongly recommend you to read the section "Recommendation : " ...

If players want play in my server, they need the latest protocol from the latest builds of minetest, for the moment, i can see ~50 players/days, that attempts to connect without the correct version... :/

MAJ de "mobs" (le sand_mosnter, dirt_monster et l'oerkki ont maintenant une armure de 90 aulieu de 100 auparavant, c'est à dire que désormais leur armure réduit les dégâts qu'ils subissent de 1, ils subiront un peu moins de dégâts en général, mais surtout ne seront plus tuable à main nue)
MAJ de "mobs" (les monstres pacifique chicken, warthog/phacochère, et sheep; peuvent maintenant être plus facilement et de plus loin attiré par le "wheat"/"blé")
MAJ de "minetestforfun_game" (ralentissement de la vitesse de la lave, effet post processing, modification légère du MEZE (et non MESE), celui ci vous tuera au bout de 3 secondes si vous le piochez)
Tweak liquid animations and post process effects, tweak Meze on_dig a...

The server is actually having troubles. It freezes when the snow starts falling. Please be patient, we are actually working on it to fix the bugs. Thank you for your comprehension.

EDIT: Bug now fixed, and a enormous update came with that fix. Now, a lot of improved mods are on the server. Everyone is welcome. Have fun playing on Minetest For Fun!

Yes, a bit fat we know it... It's because of our amazing number of mods !
We try to make the server lighter, but it's a complicated and take a lot of time...

BUT, the impressive number of mods is also our wealth/strenght !
Because of our gameplay/quests/classes/items/decorations/map/etc... MFF team created an almost infinite world ! :D

(Don't hesitate to share us your artworks, we will enjoy it)

And, don't forgot : Have fun in MinetestForFun servers ;p

I ask for somebody to do the announce but apparently nobody of our kind developers want to do it... :p

We are currently on the migration of the server in CANADA, because of many things, but mainly because of the french partriot act and secondly for a more powerful server (+100MB bandwith, +16GB RAM, + 1To HDD, etc...).

We don't want any type of privacy violation for our players or for us.

We can't give you the time at which it will be over, but i have 1To of data to migrate, so it will be long... Sorry !

Well done ! The migration is OVER, the server is now hosted in CANADA.

The new IP Address is now 158.69.114.146 (same port as before)

Quick update, the winter season textures has been disabled for this year (it remains activated 1,5 month on the server)

Server Upgrade + OS upgrade + Server Updates

Server Upgrade
All of our servers are now on Minetest 0.4.14 Stable release !
Players with an older client version than 0.4.14-stable are greatly recommended to update their game client version :)
Anyway, players with Minetest client version 0.4.10+ can still connect on our servers

OS Upgrade
We took advantage of this Minetest upgrade, to also do a huge upgrade of our server distribution to the latest Debian Jessie version (currently 8.4)

Server Updates
We recently change our way of thinking about this server. Our "Classic" server isn't Hardcore anymore !
We are working hard to make again this server easy to survive and enjoy to play :
- All monsters are now near their default power from mobs redo
- The daily quests rewards are tripled compared to before
- We keep our bosses, it's a great ultimate team challenge, and the reward are really interresting
- We erased all cooldown for both teleportation features
- The classes armors and weapons are easier to craft (near divided by 2 the ressources needed)
- etc...
... And more to come !
We want you to play again with pleasure on our Classic server like on "MFF_V1" :)

We also work hard to reduce the ingame lag. This lag is produced by Mesecons+pipeworks, we are working to slow down this mods, and are going to code some limitations for avoiding lags durably in the future.

Coming Soon :
- Mese Dragon Boss (with its boss room)
- Wizard class
- Engineer class
