@tomlukeywood You need to use Minetest Mapper, or similar:

Quick view of the city as it grows:
There is quite the infrastructure in place now, subways, railways, and roadways that you can travel quite far. :-)
Special thanks to all the builders on the server for making it a pretty interesting place to explore!

Re: Extreme Survival Minetest server
I play on this server sometimes and got around to digging a vertical water-elevator mineshaft some weeks ago, then took a break from extreme survival and left it alone for quite a while. Then later I come back again and it's griefed up--not too bad, so I'm not that worried about it. I reach the bottom and continue digging my mineshaft, but then I encounter a slight problem. There's no flowing water around me. (I've already checked and there was no torch under the water above me, so it couldn't be that.) At first I thought it was just lag, but as time went on the water still didn't come. There isn't usually a problem with that on this server. I wonder why it was doing that? Is it a bug?

Re: Extreme Survival Minetest server
Maiki, I was wondering what do you use to play MineTest on a kindle or Ipod? IK you tested it on there... Did you download it from the site or get an app that can be used for MineTest? I'm having problems with mine again, and didnt think you could actually download it from the site for an ipod, but maybe? lol
Thanks,
Asia

Yes, at the appstore android download minetest or freeminer. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=minetestasia1444 wrote:Maiki, I was wondering what do you use to play MineTest on a kindle or Ipod? Minetest:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... t.minetest
Freeminer:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... reeminermt
if those don't work try this:
http://download.cnet.com/Minetest/3000- ... 35140.html
this you will put on your android.

Re: Extreme Survival Minetest server
Maikerumine,
I saw that you put my and Baggins's shops in their proper places. Thanks, but I noticed that both were outdated. I don't think that's a problem, since you can't always be updating them, so I'll let that slide.
I also noticed, however, that the rinkydink house I made from cobblestone on this server was more decorated than I had remembered. I don't seem to recall putting the glass and brick in my protected area. Was that you, or did someone hack my account?

Re: Extreme Survival Minetest server
In case anybody wanted to see the error in question:
During placing a protector in an already protected area, the following events occur...
Last night spawn_sanitizer locked up:
That's cool, i'll just remove this mod. Take that!
Time passes....
Now for protector to act up....
Hmmm.... so it is a "can dig" function.
Strange thing is this just cropped up and I didn't change anything in spawn_sanitizer or protector when the first errors occurred.
But we see this:
Runtime error from mod '' in callback item_OnPlace()
Hmmm what does this mean? let's dig, shall we...
bingo!
I needed to mirror protection checks on both the protector mod and the coreprotectmod, with these lines here:
if itemstack:get_name() == "protector:protect"
or itemstack:get_name() == "protector:protect2"
Furthermore:
I am an idiot and cannot program therefore, most of the server crashes come from a wild idea in my head and I act on it.

Yay for MT! No MC here!
I am a human. I'm younger than 100 years old.
I've been playing Minetest since December 2014.
I'm amazed that I haven't been on here in so long! My latest minetest accomplishment was mining by hand (well, as close as you can get in a computer game) a circle 30 blocks in diameter. It took forever but it's pretty cool.

Re: Extreme Survival Minetest server
Isn't "nice bad" a contradiction in itshelf? Guess you mean the "friendly" mobs that attack other hostile mobs and help you against them - unless you accidently hit the friendly mobs due to lag. They sometimes even tend to get confused amongst each other and attack other friendly mobs. But in general it works quite well and is nice to see. Maybe they could be "tamed" by building places for them to live in (bed, furnace, chest, door, roof...).BlueFireIceUn wrote: maike, I ould love if we can team with nice bad players. SERVER DOWN?
I guess something odd happened, it keeps restarting and crashing. I won't be able to check it until later. FYI if you want to try a similar game, I have another server up called ESM CHAOS.

Re: Extreme Survival Minetest server
several ideas how to prevent protector spamming at spawn:
1. upon placing protector count nearby protectors and determine the price requirement to place it
2. price is directly related to distance from spawn (very easy and cheap to make as mod)
