I already accounted for this in my statistical explanation a few posts above. Please re-read it in detail. I am well aware of all of these strategies. Let me clarify two things:
  1. When I said "no one has a strategy" I was responding to all the suggestions about teaming up with other players, and that most of the time other players do not team up but just do their own thing. Whether or not they're using a strategy, the point is it's a one-person strategy and teaming up doesn't really happen on this server.
  2. A certain other poster was insisting (and is still continuing to insist) that there is only one valid strategy. In response I was not arguing that their strategy was invalid, but that there is in fact more than one strategy and that they may all be valid strategies.
In short, I am well aware that there are various possible strategies and that players use these strategies in the game. My comments on this matter were regarding teaming up with other players (where my experience is that teamwork almost entirely does not exist).

Micheal, just to be clear I have come on the server under alternate accounts and risen up from a score and K/D ratio of 0 to a decent K/D ratio of 4.5 (aprox) and a score over 1000 very quickly, when there were at least 10 pro-players on. I got a decent weapon very quickly, without being able to touch the pro side of the chest.

That being said, I think the people talking about this should probably stop as nobody is getting anywhere and it is just filling up the thread with useless bickering. The current 1.5 K/D ratio requirement is probably not going to change, in the foreseeable future.

With that being said, I think people should start focusing on the real problems on the server instead of silly things. Like having teams balanced based off of player's K/D ratios and making it so that respawn immunity only works if you don't have a good weapon in your inventory.

I can't tell you how many times I've been attacked by a player with respawn immunity and died because I couldn't defend myself...

Well there's been multiple times i was in a fight with someone and hit them 3 times before they could even catch up, but ended up losing because they had respawn immunity and therefore had to get the first hit (i couldn't deal them any damage until they did so).

I just stay close enough to my base to never get affected by respawn immunity.

Here is a list of the top 50 player's skill levels.

The numbers are acquired by dividing the players score by their kills to get their average points per kill and then multiplying that by their kill/death ratio.

Note: player's captures will cause a very small error in the final scores
Note: This is not an absolute measure of players skill levels as the way players behave in the game affects their kill/death ratio (for example: sam12 often just tried to take the flag with no weapons).

I took the time to find out what player's Capture/Fail ratios are by dividing their number of captures by their number of attempts. Here is the list of the top 50. (banned players not included)

Note that no one will have a capture ratio over 1.

I also Cow-Q-lated everyone's Average Points Per Kill (APPK) in the top 50. I did this by dividing their score by their number of kills. (flag captures will cause a very small error in player's APPK) Hopefully I didn't make too many errors.

Why haven't medkits been merged yet? The apples they'll replace are the no. 1 thing in MT-CTF abused by cheaters and i feel this should be prevented.

We haven't yet decided whether to re-add apples with this new mechanism, or get rid of apples in favour of medkits. And even if apples are ditched, there's a question of whether they should remain as a cosmetic item in the game.

Who exactly are you meaning by "we"?
What if these players will decide something, but rubenwardy just won't merge it?

I think it is up to rubenwardy to "decide" anything. He is owner of the server and he is owner of repository.

(This is equivalent to simply score / deaths)

Very interesting stats, probably the most representative of player's skill level, because someone who got a high K/D by killing noobs won't increase their ratio by much.

Capturing is part of the skills so I think it's good. But if you want to remove it, just subtract captures * 25 and attempts * 10 to the score

My 0.91 is because I don't like to take the flag myself (I'm used to escort the flag capturer), I only take it when the game is boring and unbalanced and my teammates are making it lasting although they could take the flag. So it's not surprising that I have very few failed attempts.

PPK is also an indicator of player's strategies, more than skills, and especially how they deal with noobs. I'm high only because I usually don't care about harmless noobs (unless they are trying to take the flag), I focus on pros.
There is also a bias for players like ANAND that were already playing some years ago in dead periods, with only noobs to kill (that's what I suppose when I see that Waterbug had a K/D of 71 last year).
