I want to introduce you to my MMO-esque server.
Server Spawn
Features
Level System
Each player starts with level 1 and gains experience points (EXP) from mining, building, defeating monsters, completing quests and PvP. If they gained enough EXP they will level up.
A level up increases max HP and base attack damage.
When they die they will lose a certain amount of EXP. If they lose too much they may even fall down a level.
The EXP for a battle are calculated very precisely and each player who hit a certain mob receives their EXP share as soon as the mob has been defeated.
Damage System
The server features a very complex damage system that takes lots of factors into account including the player level, mob level, tool damage, status effects and more.
It also includes an anti cheat system that calculates the actual battle time to the minimum time it should take to defeat the mob taking all stats into account.
Healing
Players and tamed mobs regain HP slowly over time outside of battles.
You can also craft or buy HP Potions to heal you or others quicker.
Status Effects
Players can have various status effects that affect their stats positively or negatively:
- EXPx2: Positive effect that doubles the EXP gain of the player
Double damage: Positive effect that doubles the players damage
Defense up: Positive effect that halves the received damage
Bleeding: Negative effect that makes you lose 3 HP every few seconds (caused by some monster types)
Cursed: Negative effect that disables auto healing (caused by Ghosts)
Confused: Negative effect that may make the player hit themselves (caused by fireballs that Dungeon Masters shoot)
No damage: Neutral effect that prevents players from killing the same player in PvP many times without them being able to escape
Monsters may randomly drop orbs when they are defeated.
- Temp Fly Orb: Grants the player temporary fly for 6 online hours (dropped by flying monsters)
Infinite Air Orb: Grants the player infinite air underwater for 5 minutes (dropped by swimming monsters)
Double Damage Orb: Doubles the player's damage (dropped by level 100+ monsters)
EXPx2 Orb: Doubles the player's EXP gain for 30 minutes (dropped by Elite monsters)
Blood Night Orb: Triggers another Blood Night event (dropped by monsters that are defeated during Blood Night)
Lucky Block Orb: Gives the player 50 Lucky Blocks (dropped by all monsters)
Monster Befriending Orb: Turns a hostile monsters into the player's monster friend (dropped by all monsters)
Repair Orb: Repairs all items in the player's inventory (dropped by all monsters)
Defense Up Orb: Reduces the damage the player takes by 50% for 15 minutes (dropped by all monsters)
Revival Orb: Fully heals the player before their HP reach 0 (dropped by all monsters)
This server features lots of commands.
Type /help all and /commands to list them.
PvE
My server contains a lot of different monsters that have different strengths too.
The level of the monster tells you how strong it is.
Elite monsters are a special kind that have double HP indicated by the '+' character in their name tag. When defeated, they drop more stuff and you gain double the EXP.
There are mini-bosses too that spawn very rarely. They drop rare ingots and other good stuff. Low level players are ignored by them, unless they attack first.
If you tame a mob you can level it up by feeding it or letting it fight against enemies.
PvP
PvP is OFF by default.
Click the gear button in your inventory to set your PvP settings.
Players can also send /pvpm to request a PvP match.
Lucky Block Area
Send /lba in the chat to get to that area. The Lucky Block Area is the place to open lucky blocks. You will receive some for free once in a while if you are close enough.
Inventory Store
You can buy most items on the server directly from your inventory. Just search for the item and click it to open its craft guide page. This page will include a "Buy" button with the amount and price above it.
Player Shops
There are also player made shops on the server. To receive some ask a staff member. Then place it somewhere, set it up and click the "Announce" button which will post your offers to /recent.
Chat Channels
There are multiple chat channels, to distribute the topics more.
You can join one via /join CHANNEL
(available channels are main, rp, rp2, rp3, games, love, r1 to r3 and notalk)
The Main channel is the default channel.
The chat features an Auto Translation that recognizes and translates many languages into English in real-time.

Players on the server can join guilds by other players to benefit from various perks. You can also create your own guild by asking a staff member and paying them 300 Steel Ingots.

Availability
The server runs on a root server and should be available 24/7 (unless a backup, update or critical error happens).
Spec Requirements
My server requires about 900 MB of RAM and should work on most computers/devices.
Since the server has so many features, the first joining could take a while (~ 75 MB data to download)
