FPS = frames per second. The lower the number, the worse the performance is. 5 FPS is pretty bad, 0 FPS probably means you can't even move.

FPS can also lag a bit if you have some of the animations turned on, like wavy trees, wavy water, enhanced textures, etc. If you have having low FPS and have these items turned on, you may want to turn them back off again. You'll have to log off and go into your settings to find them.

And thanks for the kind comments on my writing, I am flirting with the idea of doing a HOMETOWN Minetest fanfic, a la Tron, with some kids that get sucked into the game and have to survive long enough to figure out how to get back out. And yes, I'm aware I'm probably not the first writer to think of that idea! But I may just do it anyway.

Fine motion must be near 20 FPS, 5 FPS is very a little. If 0 FPS is it means you can not move in a space.

I know, I am not stupid.. But look at her hotbar and that texture... and besides that, when you hit F7 you aren't supposed to be able to see your hotbar (IIRC).

Part 4 is up now! And...I am not sure where it will go from here. Well, I know where it's going, I'm just not sure how it's going to get there. Anyone else have that problem? XD

Quick question about nyans and pups: is there a sweet spot as far as depth where the majority are found? I'm down about -16k, and they seem to have run dry. I have found about 50 nyans, but absolutely no pups.

iPhone and iPad users who have had issues accessing the tabs at the top of the inventory formspec, there is an easy workaround you can perform in order to be able to access your crafting guide, skins, armor, etc.

There is no official Minetest client for iOS, and for some reason the way Minetest appears on some iOS mobile devices is not correct. The HOMETOWN inventory is built off of the default sninv inventory. The inventory tabs are not visible on some iOS devices, but some iOS users have found re-setting the gui_scaling solves the issue. Explaining the process sounds overwhelming for us non-techy folk, so I'm hoping some visuals will show how easy it really is. :)

Select "Settings"



Select "Advanced Settings"



Type "gui_scaling" in the search field and select "Search"



Select "Restore Default"



You should automatically see your game screen resized, and when you are in-game you will (hopefully) see the appearance of tabs at the top of your inventory formspec. All done! :D

I usually get 5 FPS on my phone and my brother's tablet (both running Android) when playing on Hometown, though I could get 29 FPS on singleplayer...

To see the FPS on Android, make sure you use official client to play then in-game, tap the gear icon, and tap the three-gear icon, that will toggle debug info and you can see the FPS...
OR if you use OTG USB keyboard like me, or other kind of physical keyboard (ie. using Bluetooth), or the "Hacker Keyboard" app, just hit F5 key to toggle it... Android Minetest recognize all keyboard keys correctly except "slash" key (use keypad slash for it instead of the slash at question mark)

Upon hitting F7, it change the view but I can see my hotbar just fine too, I'm on Minetest 0.4.16-80dc961d-Android with OTG USB keyboard...

What app do you use for Iphones and Ipads? I've tried the one micah uses but you have to get VIP to do pretty much anything.

Actually, I don't mind it being on the open forum, but I didn't wanna be self-advertising TOO much, lol. This thread is supposed to be about Hometown after all.
