Just a reminder...

We respect all religious views and opinions. You do not need to keep your religion a secret on our server, it's okay to share traditions and information about holidays, etc. However, a line gets crossed when players start telling other players they are WRONG or they will go to hell for not sharing your beliefs. I had to interrupt a very heated argument earlier and revoke shout from two players until I could run a notice to stop the arguing about religion.

So, feel free to build a nativity, a mosque, a temple, a giant cross. Tell other players about your religious practices and traditions if they are willing to listen and are interested in learning about them. Do NOT feel free to tell others your religion is the ONLY correct religion, and do NOT use our server as your platform to preach. Thank you for honoring this rule!

We don't have a hard rule against politics, it's probably just a good idea to refrain from participating in political debates, they hardly ever go well.

While GreenDimond and I were putting up Christmas decorations at spawn, an impromptu snowball fight broke out. It hasn't snowed yet on the server, but beware of flying (and splatting) snowballs! Also, beware of the mistletoe. (Mistletoe on a no-kissing server? The irony!)

Our elf "Jingle" is here to help announce the second HOMETOWN winter build contest! Jingle usually makes huge messes in the kitchen and uses my lipstick to draw mustaches on pictures of the ExeterKids, but we still allow him back every year for some odd reason. One year, the ExeterKids painstakingly constructed the gingerbread house in the above picture, only to wake up and find Jingle had his butt parked in the royal icing while fishing the Swedish fish out of TinedStarling's pond. The ExeterKids were not impressed.

Any guesses what the theme of this second contest is?

Build a gingerbread house!

You may build your gingerbread house as small or as big as you wish! The only restriction is it needs to be a house. All entries are due by December 8th, please post the coordinates and a screenshot if possible. Contest entries will also be accepted via my PO Box at the post office. Winners will receive rare special items and gold ingots!

A few tips:

1. Orange baked clay looks very much like gingerbread
2. The holiday shop has special items you may want to use for your house - including gum drops, candy canes, peppermint blocks, and frosting nodes. (Thank you, GreenDimond!)
3. Bonus points will be given for well decorated and whimsical interiors!

Have fun! Jingle looks forward to eating....errr, judging your houses! :D

It's our buildaversary. One year ago we started building on EDad's raspberry pi. We opened to the public on February 18th, so that's when we'll stick the server in a high chair and give it a smash cake. :D

Winter Build Contest #1 (Results!)

This was an extremely difficult contest to judge, everyone did an incredible job. I know building something so large without fly isn't easy, and everyone really rose (see what I did there?) to the occasion! :D

All of our entries were so different, they really could not be compared to each other. Instead of choosing a first, second, third, and fourth place... ExeterDad and I choose entries based on what we liked most about them. Also, the winners will be copied and used in a special way, details coming soon. ;)

Congratulations Rocket321, Techy5, AspireMint, and Texan! All players who entered should look for a chest at the base of their build. The winners will receive a rare item and gold, but all players who entered will receive a costume. There are three special costumes on the server, and the only way to get them is to participate in these build contests...so congratulations to all of you! Participate in all three build contests and you will have the costume collection. :D

The second build contest is already underway, and we can't wait to see the entries!

Nice work winners! I'm really not surprised that AspireMint is a winner. Everyone knows he's a great builder :D
