The law is natural, you dont need a post stating that you should not grief in order to know to not grief.

Why we need written laws then ?

Because the crime has two parts : The crime itself and the punishment for the crime.

While the law against the crime is the positive (written, scientifical) representation of what is already known naturally, the punishment is not natural, needing a written, standardized form, to really produce justice. Any kind of punishment is arbitrary (How can someone say that a permaban is worth the same thing as the piece of the map that you griefed ? Then how much it is worth ? A week ban ? Two weeks ? Etc, theres no way to correlate the worth of a crime and its punishment. Any punishment is necessarely arbitrary).

IE.: When you commit a crime you dont need a law to state that a crime is a crime, you already know that.

The thing that makes the law needed is to know the punishment that a certain society binds to a certain crime.

So your argument about not knowing the law is basically destroyed here.

So if you say that you did not know the law, this means that you ASSUMED THE RISK of being punished by harsh means or of being pushed lightly, whatever one could have happened. Unluckly, you got permabanned.

but i cant build it because of your protection area. my bridge crosses your protection area.
Can you give me the rights to build there, or continue it yourself ?
