Unfortunatly the character creator mod causes crash when calling a non-existant 3d armor list on ALL new players.

I wanted this mod as a temp fix for a new mod to come, where you can customise your character via 3d armor mod.

For now all new players WILL cause the game to crash thus, unplaable till tonight bug fix.

Sorry for the troubles.

Currently I am working on a very light weight alternative to character creator.

Changed mob Garry
Added skins
Upgraded craft guide
Updated code to be compatible with 4.16 dev
Fixed some craft recipes
Added quicksand
Merged a few more mods in default
Fixed gravel sieve
Added seaweed
Added mymonths
Added molten metal

TODO:
Redo crafting for all metals and tools as well as upcrafting ores and ingots.

Have animals drop more fish and meats

Fix furnace and bloomery to not accept item if active.

My goal is to keep fun gameplay with challenge in crafting and survival.

I just compiled 0.5.0-dev808ada1 and cannot play on sticks and stones. It is unavailable with 0.4.16 as well.

That is odd. I can play on my cell phone in version 416 just fine.

Yay makerumine! It's best for servers to be stable MT versions. I learned that the hard way. With mods that require the latest dev, just use the version of that mod from right when the latest stable MT came out :D

Did many cleaning of codes and tweaked many mods to be "hidden" inside default.
Remember to ALWAYS collect grasses and plants and small stones as they are critical to your crafting and survival.

Big update tonight...

Expect the crafting and forging to be reworked to a more realistic process.

To look for:

Foundary items like molds will NOT be cookable in bloomery anymore, now you will only use molten iron to craft with molds to get the redhot mold, and these items will need further metal work, as they are only castings and more brittle for use in tools.

To make ingots, you will pour molten iron into ingot mold.
To make bar stock, flat plate metals, you will cook the ingots to redhot ingots and then craft into desired shape with anvil, swage block, and hammer.
To craft musket barrel you will need to make ribbon stock and craft around mandrel and use swage and hammer to make the barrel sections, then butt forge weld the sections together.

Most of these processes will require more re-heating of the metals to be workable.

Swords, shovels, axes, and picks will also have the option to be forged for better quality in this manner, for a quick fix and a weaker tool, the cast tool heads will suffice.

Expect easier crafting but with a few more steps.

Originally I wanted to keep things craftable with striking an anvil, but to code something like this would be far above my scope, plus not everything is anvil craftable, there are other tools needed in the blacksmithing process.

All in all, once you have crafted an anvil and swage, you will be able to craft anything in the game without trouble, just the resources, as this game is very resource intensive.


Other tweaks to crafting will be returning tree logs when crafting resin and rosin, tweaking the plant fiber to cord recipies, as well as cloth.

Thanks for playing and testing some of these features to be added this evening.

As for a video...

It is so hard to cover everything all withing a half an hour. :/ I really need to make a "quick" tutorial on this, as it has gotten extremely complex.

The main thing to point out is you will need special tools inserted in the crafting area to craft almost all metal components, and the tools, buckets, etc will be returned to you.

Tools now include:
hammer
swage block
anvil
bucket with water
foundry tongs
reamer
iron hardware.

Also you can reverse craft your worn out tools for the handle, to keep from making new handles.

Also, cords recipe has doubled and also added vines for more output.

It is pretty cool, now that the framework is laid out.

Some more issues with the torch's light sources ... Is actually a bit worse now than before :-(( Check my journal entry in the server log file for the steps to reproduce ;-D

Right now digging anything I continuously see these white light sources drop to the floor, where they seem to land and stay, lighting up the area around where it fell down. Best reproducible when you place a non-physical node such as grass or papyrus, go stand in it, dig the node and you can see it fall down. Also happens when mining, seems like standing close to the stone and then digging it also causes these moving lights to fall down.

They cannot be picked up it seems (tried that, digging and right clicking) and are not moved into the inventory, so at least that bug was solved :-) But I cannot fathom what could cause this other issue now ... :-(

UPDATE: Tested some more, placing a non-physical node like grass or papyrus straight below you, the moving light also falls down, hits the node that was just placed and causes it to be dug. (after which the node that was placed it is picked up straight away, the light remains on the floor)

I "Fixed" it. ;-)

I want game play to be ultra realistic, hence the no light = infinity, so I made the light a falling node, un-dig-able, and drops sticks.

Also, I added a very game breaking change: Falling dirt nodes and falling gravelsieve, furnace, and bloomery.

Now, n00bs cannot build a dirt hut.

I've been enjoying the server so far maikerumine and I've eventually crafted an anvil, gravelsieve and swage block, but for the life of me I can't craft a hammer. The problem seems to be crafting steel bar stock.

Steel bar stocks needs tongs to be crafted first, which in turn need steel bar stock to be crafted first. Which is impossible.

So, I'm stuck and unable to craft a hammer. No doubt I have missed a really obvious step.

Sorry I wasn't clear maikerumine, I am trying to craft the steel hammer for use with the anvil. Or to keep it even simpler I can't craft foundry tongs.

Ah, nevermind, you've changed the crafting method for tongs :).

I think I found a bug in crafting "Redhot Steel Flat Plate Stock", needed to craft a saw. The anvil is also consumed as well as the "Redhot Steel Ingot". I've lost 2 anvils doing this, unless it's an intentional and very costly feature.
