Server Crashes v5.4.1
Using the connector tool has been crashing the server. This started after the server was updated to v5.4.1.

when i was playing box 293 i had a idea that you could Complete a box without a nexus cube.
that could help with the Immersion because the task does not need to be place a nexus cube on Pedestal intead it could be breaking a block or pressing a button.
on Completing this task it should telport the player to the rating section Immediately and close the door, or if this is possible with the engine fade out the screen.
also there needs to be a guide about more Advanced Builds because most players will not Understand papyRubby builds.
the connecter tool needs to be fixed.
you can also submit a box that has no pedestal, wasting time.there needs to be a Quality test when a player submits a box:
check if there is any pedestal
check if the Amount of chests with pedestal matchs the amount of pedestals
check if digable nodes are not Surrounded by un-digable nodes that are the same node.
check the build time
check if the box is unnamed
if any of the checks fail then show the player a forum with the failed checks. If the box is unnamed or the first two checks failed then ask the player to fix it up Otherwise ask the player to Provide a reason why the checks failed and put on a low-priorty list.
Categories need to be Explained more clearly.
you can lose you torch on some boxs

You technically can't, because the doors are closed until the opening condition is met, and this is a hard stop.

However, I'm not sure if you can use a piston or node creator to somehow make the condition met without the player ever having a nexus cube in their hands.

If that works, and I'd even be willing to patch the code to make perhaps some way like that possible, then I'd be 100% ok with it.

if you have to patch the code then it is Impossible. i will try using node creators. but just a nexus without a pedestal does not work. which is good because then i can have nexus cube Floating in mid-air.
edit: you can not place nexus cubes using node creators
edit: you can move the pedstal can the block does change but it does not work.:(
edit: maybe you can modify the code so that when a pedestal is Underneath a nexus cube then it counts as being placed. Then you can use water to auto start the piston.

And did you read my whole post. I said:
rob123 wrote:

also heaps of the master Series are so bad i do not know how there got put on it. none of the boxes in the master series have a storyline Except Terminal Trouble which takes a really long time to solve but has a really good storyline. If the box does not have a storyline or it is not fun then it should not be added
also the readme.md is misleading.

readme.md wrote: The entry hallway has a spot for a sign hint that the constructor can
modify. It also has an interface for modifying the box parameters,
such as name and size, and variations such as entry/exit gate locations
and collection point stations.

moderation of other players with a lower point level

A Random box can be chosen from the lobby.

A player can test trial boxes. Trial boxes are not yet finished
but submitted by the creator for review. The player can rate and
provide comments ("can't continue", "fell and stuck in a hole",
"too easy") to the creator so they may modify the box.

The trial Series: Unranked and unfinished boxes. These are marked
"can be played" but "review requested". Players can recieve extra
points when they play and rank these.
you can not do any of that.

I also can, if people are interested, allow people to make modifications and add these sort of elements to the existing tutorial boxes. This is done by making a copy of a box and making a different player a temporary owner, and then they can modify it. After the box is re-reviewed, it would be copied back over the original. If you're interested and have ideas, come chat with me on IRC.
the whole of Tutorial 1 of 8 needs a complete Overhaul. there is no info about how to use terminals and other things.
my box is box 1203
edit: i am not that Motivated to do it. i have done some.

It would be very useful if when testing a box a player had access to the reveal tool.

Bug:
Landscaping a box with pedestals on a torch/blank layer will keep the pedestals but will resets the pedestal count for the box to zero.

Signal Overlap Prevention:

button -> extender -> adder(0/1) -> piston

This will prevent the signal overlap you get from mech extenders. You can connect the button to both the extender and adder for a faster input signal which can help with mech synchronization. Mechs have a 0.05s delay when a signal is inputted into them.

For a week now I cannot connect to ITB (I'm getting "Connection timed out." errors).
However, the status page suggests that some people are able to connect: https://minetest.foo-projects.org/status.html

I was wondering if anyone had similar problems.

I tried from multiple locations and networks and keep getting the same result.

Thanks a lot for the confirmation. I'll keep investigating to see why it does not work on my side (other remote servers do work).

Later edit: I realized that I was on an IPv6-enabled network and Minetest was attempting to connect to the IPv6 address behind minetest.foo-projects.org.

I found the IPv4 IP address using ping4 and connected with it directly.

There is no way that you can jump into this tree:
Image

One can only guess how to figure this clue out:

You can enter the five symbols correctly and in order, but nothing happens when you do:

thats rot13(If i remember correctly). plus i accidentally left a leak of the combination with the signs. @sofar could you remove the signs. By using 3rd person view you can leak the combination

all of the boxs you showed are solvable. You are looking at it in the wrong way

sofar swears that every box is solvable.

I can confirm that box 761 "A Walk Outside the Box" is solvable.
I don't know the box number of the 2nd one, but I know how to decipher the hint. :P
I also didn't solve the 3rd one (box 376 "Stairways and Confusion"). This is probably the hardest box in the game (NO SPOILERS!).

@sofar: It would be really cool if you could post stats to list how many players have solved each box. This would give a very rough idea about how hard they are.

This is the final puzzle in Yet Another Collapsing Box. I followed the logic put forth by the other puzzles, yet the answer still ends up being wrong.

I solved the five puzzles that are in this box, but it can sometimes be buggy, so I had to play through it again in order to beat it. This one is known as Bartimaeus, by the way.

Every single box by PapaRubby is a massive undertaking. This one is called Big Wall. I only found one nexus in the dark area, but I need two of them to win. Where is the other one?

I don't see the point of putting myself through this torture anymore. Unless someone can help me with these three boxes, I will have to give up:

Temple of Creation
These ones are just way too nasty. How is anybody supposed to beat these?

Hi Inocudom, all my boxes should be playable (i don't know if the problem of height of the jump has been fixed already, if not, you can't finish 819-little big clone).
I made some videos to show the solutions in YouTube (search for PapaRubby), unfortunately, these 3 boxes aren't uploaded yet, i will look if i can do it soon.
