The minetesthosting servers still have version 0.4.14 and other servers 0.4.16 and it don't need longer to release 0.5.0 as stable. Write some comments about it. The Poll is here.

I think it will keep 0.4.14. Nobody would be able to connect to it then, but it's not like MTH cares for their server anyhow.

BBmine, look at the poll, most of them vote 0.5.0 with newer protocol version.
Minetesthosting will think if he want newer version or just keep on 0.4.14, or the minetesthosting server shutdown after 0.5.0 have released.

dumb poll. You didn't list 0.4.14, nor is "0.5.0 (Protocol v24-35)" even something realistic, or even something that exists. And no, no server hoster will ever host an unstable snapshot that approximates that. So now 9 out of 25 voters don't even know what they are voting for!

I will fix and allow players to change their vote.

So, then Minetest Hosting will shutdown forever after 0.5.0 released. But its not solved yet.

It depends if they want much gamers using their support and getting gamers, or whatever.
Also depends on how it could be set ONLY clients with same version, or maybe possible to allow just one ore two versions older to connect,
as
if you host newest version, most of clients will stuck as they are not so fast able to update themselves.

I have no idea when was released 0.5.0 that Minetest Hosting is changing the version or he wants to be normal. Should he not switch Minetest Hosting (forever)

So yeah it isn't far away from 5.0.0 so I going to change thread or keep it for later, the discussion is over.
