And the address was banned recently :(

Sorry for the trouble, should not happen again, i whitelisted the ip in question...

Thanks! I am having some trouble getting back on the server though, my password is being rejected. Since I am strictly copy&pasting it from a file to enter it since creation I am confident that it is the correct one. Is there anything that might've gone wrong there?

hello every1.
This is tux. For some reason i can not connect to your servers anymore.
(including irc chat)
  • I have tried both servers "pandorabox and pandorabox-test"
  • I have cleared cache
  • I have tried other servers and have been able to connect to them.
  • I have connect successfully with different connection.
The debug.txt is just saying
Code: Select all
2019-09-07 07:43:59: ERROR[Main]: Connection timed out.

I was wondering if it might be that I need a id reset?
reference to id reset: viewtopic.php?t=14356

Edit:
it might be that my ip is banned. If so how come?

hi tux,
did your internet connection already use IPv6 ?
I think admin will read, I will login and tell him also ingame mail. wired ...
Server: still up, see some gamer - but there is a new 1st important thread "climate change" for me. Something I know since 1992 - had seen the melting glacier in Switzerland.

Hey tux

I saw you connected again:
Code: Select all
2019-09-07 04:38:23: ACTION[Server]: tux [172.20.0.1] joins game.

What was the issue?
There are no ip-bans here, at least you should have access to the map:
https://pandorabox.io/map/#0/0/0/11

EDIT: test.pandorabox.io is currently down anyway...

The test-server is up again, can you try it there:
test.pandorabox.io

(just don't build anything serious there...)

Server is currently down

There was a crash a few minutes ago

I'm taking the opportunity to migrate it to the new hardware... :)
It will take about half an hour...

The latest move to the new server had some very bad side-effects:
Looks like a "fast" HDD can't replace a simple SSD :(
The reading times are just not sufficient enough..

I'm moving it back in the next few hours, there will be an hour downtime again. i'll announce ingame too...

EDIT: currently down, moving the files...
EDIT2: done, should be up again, relatively lag-free :)

ja HDD 200, SSD 550 und M.2 SSD 2800 Tempo - da kann als HDD nur ein Raid gegen die normale SSD mit halten, also wohl mindestens 4 davon.
Ich habe in ...aber dennoch das in der
/etc/sysctl.conf
Code: Select all
# swap erst wenn unbedingt nicht anders geht = gerade virtuelle Server haben ja zudem meist auch virtuellen Ram !!! (und der kommt auch von der HDD, oder SSD und ist gegen echten Ram SAUlangsam)
vm.swappiness=1

# Improve cache management
vm.vfs_cache_pressure=50
vm.dirty_ratio = 80

In der world.conf auch so ein paar Dinge:
Code: Select all
# Maximum number of forceloaded blocks
#max_forceloaded_blocks = 16 (Standard)
max_forceloaded_blocks = 4096 (bei mir: sollten ueberschlagen so die sein der Worldanchor + je Spieler gemaess active block range)

# Number of extra blocks that can be loaded by /clearobjects at once
# This is a trade-off between sqlite transaction overhead and
# memory consumption (4096=100MB, as a rule of thumb)
#max_clearobjects_extra_loaded_blocks = 4096 (Standard, works like a cache)
max_clearobjects_extra_loaded_blocks = 262144

#server_unload_unused_data_timeout = 600 # 86400 24 h, 1 Tag = let them in the cache for ...
server_unload_unused_data_timeout = 86400
Server: still up, see some gamer - but there is a new 1st important thread "climate change" for me. Something I know since 1992 - had seen the melting glacier in Switzerland.

against the both direct bug / glitch using gamer I saw just in 2 days ("a" and "xercyst") , this might help:

minetest.conf
Code: Select all
#protector
#protector_radius = 5
protector_flip = true
protector_hurt = "1"
* radius = 5 not need to change, but can ... (mean a lot of work to readjust the set one :-( )
* flip : start first month, that people / gamer realize it IS protected
* hurt : later to damage them, as they dont get it
Server: still up, see some gamer - but there is a new 1st important thread "climate change" for me. Something I know since 1992 - had seen the melting glacier in Switzerland.

Hey! I couldn't find bones because my client can't search the single nodes in such detail!
Image
Players need an ingame electron microscope that would be able to divide the area of single node into bilions of small cubes ,-)

I'm not doing that again. Players get hurt by reading signs that way :/
If you want perfect privacy consider playing on a private server (sorry for being straight-forward...)

Well, try to wander on Moon - flying (or rather high jumping) xenomorphs will help you with that ,-) Although it can happens that a single mob jumps up so high that it fly away high enough to stops harassing you, they seems to appear in duos, and also in such frequency, that they will successfully be excellent assistants for this purpose.
