I am at 0 fps and my screen is black, can't build or anything. A RESTART might help please.

This has nothing to do with the server. 0fps means your client's gone haywire.

What do you mean? Anyway it is working again! It seemed like I had to change my password.

How do you get XP points?

Just by normally playing; performing tasks from a certain category will add points for that category. For example, digging stone and ores adds "Mining" XP points. You have to click on the button again to refresh to show newly added points.

Player "chris" rolled back; griefed one of the wool sculptures in Sealife Cove.
Player "222jkm" rolled back; stole all the streetlights.

I'd really like to come back to this server once in a while but every time I log on and see how much more my house is demolished each time it's kinda... deflating.

If there is any griefing, please report it to Menche. He has taken care of previous griefings pretty fast. Also it might help to install protectors. Those can be found in the tutorial which you can reach through the teleporter at the spawn house. There's also a stick-like tool that allows you to check if something is protected correctly.

222jkm rolled back again for griefing Kacey's castle. Interact also revoked.

Why is everthing I made gone?
does it have anything to do with the rollback?

Did you dig any of the stairs on the road leading out of city hall? It may have been a mistake; rollback_check can be difficult sometimes. Sorry if you didn't.
I am trying to enable logging to verify the results of rollback_check to prevent false positives.
EDIT: logging enabled, can double check before rolling back now.

Player "Pumone" rolled back; reason: destroyed streetlight system.

There's been a lot of griefing lately, despite the use of (slightly glitchy) rollback and protectors.

Should I install the more flexible node_ownership mod and try to continue as a public server, or should i require registration?

Poll here (forum polls aren't working...).

Luckily, I had all my diamonds in my inventory, but I still lost all my mese and metal (they were in chests in my house).

Considering that most buildings on your server seem to be decent, rather small houses, the protector mod seems sufficient. It is easier to use especially for new players but less well suited for large projects.
Regarding griefing: That's hard to avoid on open servers. Even those servers that require registration suffer from it because registration can't filter out all players not mature enough.

Menche, i am going to stop playing until it is whitelisted, these griefers are getting too stupid for me to even deal with. Someone SOMEHOW got into my house and took all my jungle saplings and half of my cobble. not to mention raiding my supply chests in my mine. So as i said, whitelist it Menche.

I don't like how in the "city" around the spawn area there is so many protected areas, and things still get griefed, plus you can hardly build anything there. That's why I built my house VERY far from spawn, It took me about 5 minutes to get there once, when I accidentally clicked "set home" instead of "go home". My house has never been griefed and if someone is trying to kill me i just teleport there. I also have a good supply of wood and plants near my house.

PS the server should have the crafting guide mod because there are so many crafting recipes that I can't remember.

Edit: why is the server not working??

Menche, I apoligize for not being on the server much. I have been having troubles running Minetest on Arch Linux probably due to display drivers. Minetest doesn't work much at all.
I think the display issues are due to the xf86-video-nouveau drivers. Have tried the propietary ones, sorta worked but not xorg ;_;

Please suspend my moderator position. I will come back and reclaim it whenever I can get it working (if I do) or I get a new computer.
