I'm talking about being about 2500 to 2800 away from spawn (I think my furthest portal was at about -28000 in the overworld). I'm starting to suspect it is some sort of network overload that just makes it unplayable for me. Don't get me wrong, I thing your server is fantastic, but I've lost so much good equipment only because the server refuses to react that play just becomes unbearable. The fact is that because of that lag you can be running around and not see what has actually happened to you until you log back in. Or, like in the last case I had (this was in the overworld even) I fell through my boat and drowned because I glitched out of my boat and ended up under ice and one square of my boat that refused to react. Trying to teleport home didn't work either.
Maybe it's just my crappy connection but with other minetest survival servers (that had lots of clients running) there wasn't that sort of lag issue.

I'm sorry for that.
My network provider is mark.ru, https://www.speedtest.net/?s=1136 - here you can measure the connection speed.
Bandwidth should be 100 mbit/s up/down but its world-wide web, who knows how the traffic currently goes (traceroute should show that).
At home I've got Asus RT-AC51U and then - Ubuntu PC as the server.
When the server load is high - I experience the lag to but pretty rare.

Updated to 5.4.1.
Added extra mods (and mobs) from 'mineclone5' experimental branch.
It isn't a name of a game. It's the name of the branch designed for new features collecting, up to MC 1.17 JE.

Oh, forgot to mention: It seems we have a server freed.
Write me if somebody wants to admin it.
Mod set will be the same, network lag, version, etc - same, same, same, you can get an impression by playing on our other servers.
But the world can be fresh, any seed, currently any mapgen.
Can't guarantee anything, server located at home.

Updated to MineClone 5 0.71.5, now officially.
@gustavo1, sorry for not answering in time. Yep, some nearest strongholds are broken.
We decided not to restore them. You think different?

@kay27, thanks for your answer, by the way, there are new mods called coppper and spyglass and deepslate (all 1.17). are they here installed? Or do you have plans to install them?

Took me a while to find dirt, trees, etc, when I started. So I put a chest with food, oak trees, etc, outside my base near 188,260. There's also a garden indoors with cane, carrots, and potatoes and a nether portal and enchantment library at the bottom of the mineshaft. Enjoy!

Would give exact coords but the server appears to be offline at the moment.

It's hard for me to say this, but the servers will likely be down for unknown time soon.
It was great to play with all of you guys. Also, together we found and fixed so many bugs that MineClone 5 works pretty stable.

Yes, it's possible. But I'm not sure if we can just share it... If you know what I mean, survival, spoiling bases, etc... We've got some additional time to think about it, maybe a month +-

when you as gamer with the client have MAP_SAVING on in the settings, most of the map (all you have visited and data sent to you) is anyway on your (client) unit ... you can use it.

Actually, I made local update of anticheat mod. Not sure if it's correct - just hardcoded some heuristic model to kick or ban players who are doing unusual things looking like server attacking. I planned to deploy it together with bubble columns removal, but got stuck on bubble columns :) So probably I'll add only anticheat update, and if something will go wrong, I'll switch to the mods mentioned by you.
