I've played for one or two months, reached "level 5" and over "$600"

Type: Hardcore survival and PVP server with overpowered mobs

Rules: No griefing, no "hacking", no insults. Proof required for reports. Killing and theft encouraged by PVP not being opt-out, getting XP from killing (losing by dying), small and unintuitive/buggy protected areas, visible health indicators

Community: A community of (paradoxically mostly eventually nice) non-english speakers. Depending on the time of day, russian and/or spanish is spoken. Working albeit restrictive chat filter. Effective moderation

Automation: basic_robot very expensive to make, severely nerfed (distance-capped, no grab, listen_msg, attack, keyboard or remote control, et al). basic_machines. "Uruk hai" spawners unmovable

Server and mods: Very fast restart times. Well-maintained by admin fixing bugs, but the mods are proprietary and the changes to free-software mods are proprietary too. Improvements can be suggested via discord as well, but it seems the admin is not willing to pivot the server according to players' wishes

Travel: Slow walking and horses, "sprinting" based on farming-mod, delayed (7 sec) /spawn and /home, instant lockable travelnets, /tp(h)r, very rare on-time-use teleport item

Resources: Available but hindered by overpowered mobs in the mines. Slow tool powerups
Trade: Functional and electronic-currency-based, plus the vendor mod
Mob drops: Not worth the bother, except for the "boss" drops which is very hard and risky to defeat
