Put this in minetest.conf:
There are no whitelists, but you can set the default privileges to "shout" only to prevent building to unauthorized people:
and give them the "interact" privilege by hand, with:

It's actually `default_privs', not `default_privileges'.

Great! I'll use this to revoke their shout priv if they spam or something. I presume I replace 'privs' with 'shout'.

Anyone want to be a tester?
I'm nearly done just making a few more roads and plots of land and protecting a few areas.
If you want to be a tester you will be the first people on and get a house near spawn!
Pm me or post here
Or I will just release it to the public first and then everyone can play.

Hmm i'm not sure what to do. Should I give out interact to new players or shall I make them mail me to request interact. Anyone got any ideas?

A request would be best. Remember the griefers on redcrab's? I'm sure you don't them here.

Yey a tester!!! Thanks I thought I had noone.
I will tell you when I have got it to work.
Iv'e got a problem at the moment though. I can't get the server to work. If anyone is an expert on servers please help me! I have set up port forwarding and everything! I can't get it to work. My old test server worked but this one does not for some reason.

Thanks you can both help. I have followed everything on those tutorials but it still does not seem to work.
Maybe its that I have got 2 minetest games on my computer. I think I might stick to one and use 0.4.7 and maybe fess's builds which are good for windows 8 and i'll try again.

Okay, testers.
I am leaving the server on overnight. It's on creative just so things can be built quicker. This is just temporary. Sorry if you haven't been given interact yet as you were not on today I can grant you it tomorrow.
At the moment you can build a house if you like and try to protect it. Evergreen is making the spawn house bigger and better.
