That would be very fine indeed! Those holes in the ground do annoy me a bit as well. Imagine people falling down :-) So by all means please re-naturalize the area after digging the hole with the quarry. A slim cover of dirt and a few trees on top might do :-)
I did not even consider how the holes looked :0 i have caped them but i will cover and re-naturalize the area. please tell me if my efforts look good i will try to clean up my mess :) and if there are any other problems with my builds then let me know i welcome suggestions how else will i know if it's ugly or not right ;)

In the second latest build, it loaded for about a second before closing, and there was this in the debug.txt:

Now I can connect with the latest build, but after a while it always crashes with "Some exception: "std::bad_alloc"". Is this a problem with the client or the server?

That's strictly a client problem.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it or is it just my computer's hardware?

I doubt your hardware is the issue. Try a different build, perhaps from a different source than what you're using now (e.g. if Blockmen's doesn't work, try one of sfan5's, etc).

Sfan5's latest build seems to work fine.

Also, I have noticed a bug: with vehicles, (the two I have seen this on are the boat and the blue camo hovercraft) when they are right clicked, the player can control them but is not attached to them.

Public Announcement

The sewers are making good progress. Most buildings around spawn can be connected within the next few days. If you are interested, pls quote and answer this topic.

You get:
  • Water connection (in + out)
  • Power connection (mv, might be expanded later to lv and hv)
  • Waste disposal
Building this takes a lot of resources, so you will need to pay a bit to get connected.
You pay:
  • (have to calculate first)

Update:

Please use digitalaudioconcepts.com port 30001 to connect to this server (or use the public server list). Since I have my own domain and everything's on a proper VPS, I can phase-out the dynamic DNS service I'd been using.

How much will it cost to connect a building very close to spawn? Efficient waste disposal is extremly important. As is good water supply. I'm talking about the public nuclear reactor at spawn.

I didn't calculate the price yet, but the closer a building is to the sewers, the cheaper connectiong will be (cause of pipe/wire length). This evening, when I'm back from school, I will start calculating, then I'll tell you :) Maybe you'll be online too... Let's see....

er - Nuclear waste disposal through the public sewer? Sometimes I'm pretty glad this is only a game - although these games do picture reallity pretty well ever so often ...
oh dear my old "AKW nee" times coming up again, sigh.

There was this workers mod somewhere. Maybe it should add policemen that carry protesters away.
Sort of weird seeing everybody having his personal nuclear reactor.

Maybe I should ask Reactor to add the ruined Tchernobyl reactor to his Pripyat map with lots of harmfull radiation around.

If the operator of a nuclear reactor gets the chance of cheap waste disposal...:-) (at least dying in MT has no real consequences :))

maybe it should - like you can never recharge your life to the previouse level - and - in the end you just fade away and roam the map as ghost - a glowing ghost of course if you die of radiation.

OK sorry in advance for more headaches ( especially after yesterday's pipeworks bug ) but i have discovered that my deployers do not place things in my protected areas which is preventing me from making my wood/tree system work if I should post this somewhere else let me know and i will :)

As discussed in IRC, the hole seems to be some obscure engine bug, hmmmm (kwoelkr) discovered something similar to this in one of his singleplayer maps while doing some testing. I've tried twice to repair it, only to realize what it was.

The cause is as yet unknown, but fortunately it isn't anything I or anyone else on Survival have done, nor the map data nor any of the mods on the server, so far as anyone can tell, anyway.

Hopefully it'll be solved soon. In the meantime, um...just don't build with sand or gravel unless you like magic, disappearing structures/roads. :-)
