Haha! That's not an entirely stupid idea, but I actually think the current system is fine, if a bit stressful for Shinji.
It does amuse me that some players not content with being idiots choose to advertise the fact on the forum, but I don't think we should encourage them.

Anyway, back to the game:

I'm not keen on the torches update. I use torches for most of my lighting, so I will have to replace a lot of nodes. The problem is what to replace them with. Most other forms of lighting are too bright and modern for what I'm building or not wall-mountable. The best solution from my POV would be to make candles wall-mountable. I'd be happy to code and create suitable graphics if Ten was up for it.

the new abri torches are same brightness as normal torches but don't go out.

What happened to the teleport pad recipe?

We have a firebreather!
I am not sure who all are added to these protections. But we need someone who could put down some invisible glass or something similar, to prevent these little friends from disintegrating spawn.
I heard of a mod that could prohibit mobs from damaging protected areas. Could it be applied to the dragons?

as far as i know, Ten's mod does protect protected areas from explosive fireballs ;)
so everything should be safe
(except for the players :P )

hello, i have played on this server a while ago and now i wanna play again but it says no new users. i have forgotten my account details is there a way to get them back because i was doing pretty good

Try to register there afresh. Probably it must work.

The map was reset in early 2016, have you played since then?

unfortunately not, or actually i may have played but i don't remember losing my castle and other stuff

If you forgot your data create your account afresh. That is write other username and other password.

use the new search feature to find it in the server list.
the ip address has changed ;)

I'm new at this server, does it often comes down? What about today, is it gona be online?

This is what I get whenever I search for Xanadu:





If the server is up, then it's failing to announce to the master server list. Perhaps someone could share the IP/port here for the those that don't know the new address.

As of 30 Aug 12:17PM US EST, Xanadu server is not listed on the server list.

I don't think I've played on Xanadu this much since I was last on a stay at home vacation. I live in Houston and my neighborhood got 31.60 inches of rain however most of my apartment complex stayed dry and we all had electricity and internet so Xanadu is my go to place...(I'm also able to drive most roads in my area but some of the throughway's that are low are impassable and first responders really need the roads in those areas clear). As smoothly as it runs along with the mods that Ten has installed, the server has been a great get away from the stress and nerves. The sun came out yesterday so now the water just has to drain out of the city.

On a safety note, family is for the most part dry as well, none of them had to be evacuated or had any other major issues, clean up has already started and is ongoing. Disneymanda and I thank all of you who have sent your support.

Yes the server has been down for 24 hours now. Also, its been a long time since I've seen the server listed as Xanadu on the server list. It has changed IPs twice and is now listed as 98.166.88.101:30000

I've been experiencing a lot of latency for weeks, over 30 seconds on some occasions. The stated server lag is not representative: just typing /status or /time and timing the response time shows how bad things are. I don't think its Xanadu server since no one else seems to be affected. I suspect my wifi or isp, but the way Minetest handles slow connections really isn't helping. If the connection has latency the client can carry on, but when the client finally receives info from the server it winds back things like nodes dug, but not player position. This means if you mine you'll be regularly buried by blocks that you thought you'd mined, resulting in damaged armour, lost health and deaths. I have lost many full crystal armour sets, tools and rainbow boots to this problem.

Lucky you, I've never found rainbow blocks or had rainbow boots. :(
