[Mod] Giant Xmas Tree [1.1] [xmas]
xmas, this it a mod for minetest/freeminer/minetime that grows a decorated 24 node (72m)
tree, it is perfect for that holiday theme!
NOW WITH LIGHTS!!!
Balls are set to mesh but as a fallback they will be shown as wool nodes only if
your version isnt compatiably wiht mesh nodes!
to remove tree just dig the trunk, all balls and leaves are set up for leafdecay.
Note thet due to the size leafdecay will lag the game/server a bit till it is all
gone away. also the star drops you your xmas sapling back for the next tree!
license:
textures and code: custom license included in readme.txt
depends:
default, wool

Re: [MOD] Giant Xmas Tree [1.0] xmas
Typo?set up foe leafdecay.
Looks great! How about lights? Even if they are randomly spread, that would make it more awesome.
Re: [MOD] Giant Xmas Tree [1.0] xmas
I put my own lights in it :D

I would prefer a common license like WTFPL, CC-BY-SA or BSD 3 -Clause.
Still, it's a nice tree!

Look, I programmed a bug for you. >> Mod Search Engine << - Mods by Krock - DuckDuckGo mod search bang: !mtmod <keyword here>

The source is completely open, she just doesn't want anyone using it for profit.

Whoa mama that a Huge tree.
I'm a Transgender no shame about it.
I prefer to be considered as a "Girl/Lady/Miss/Madam/Female" for now on.

Ok that does it. I will now establish a new subdirectory in my Minetest download directories dedicated exclusively to X-Mas and winter related mods. ;-P
So if I drop of the edge of some minetest worlds for a while I'm off decorating my virtual tree(s) and getting all them christmassy mods I have collected, modified or created to work together nicely.
Yet another "must have"

While a cc license might not the best to fit for code, I do think that the strict exclusion of any commercial use is not the best idea.
Imagine somebody puts together a minetest installation that includes some mods and this package is to be distributed on a cd strapped to a magazine that showcases some open source software and this magazine is indeed sold for money. Even if the money made is only used to produce the magazine one could still argue that some people buy the magazine for the content on the cd.
I think the Minetest community should not avoid to be able to use such media and forms of promotion. I must admit though I am not at all sure what license covers this issue best.
But completely dissallowing any commercial use is in my humble oppinion too restrictive.

ideas explained by this might be of interest: BD-propagande (taken from the Wikimedia/Commons:Licensing page)mike_dzl wrote:The source is completely open, she just doesn't want anyone using it for profit.

Re: [Mod] Giant Xmas Tree [1.1] [xmas]
Nice tree! It's a pity they don't last longer. It could drop its decoration in early january and remain as a huge tree. Might fit into moretrees to a degree.
A list of my mods can be found here.

i think i can set it to drop the baubles and swap lights for normal leaves after you dig the star if you like that idea :)Sokomine wrote:Nice tree! It's a pity they don't last longer. It could drop its decoration in early january and remain as a huge tree. Might fit into moretrees to a degree.
