In the inventory you can get the block for placing. Once placed right click on it and the board is placed. Be careful where because it will destroy anything in its way. The board places to the north east.
After you play the game right click on the first block to reset the board.
You need to use /giveme or creative to get the nodes to place them.

Thanks. Cool site. I have an idea for games I want to make. I am hoping that others get inspired to add to this. If we get enough board games maybe I will set up a board game server.

Looks very nice! There are some other games out there. Perhaps they could be bundled into a tiny-games-pack? Some players sometimes ask for that. Boardgames could be added to existing worlds and entertain the players.

I never seen that before. I will see about mixing them.

You though of everything. Reset, glowing play stones. Only the coal texture for connect 4 is a bit unsuitable, because it looks very different with different texture packs. In your TP it looks like a button. In SummerFields it looks like a big coal lump.

I am going to make a reset button that is the same for all games. I need to make it consistent.

I changed the reset dot in myconnect4.
I added a parkourtype thing called mypitfall. Anyone that is as old as me will get why I made it this way. Please note that it is 100 nodes long. Be careful placing it.
Would be cool if people used this as a base for making more levels.

I fixed a couple issues with chess, checkers and connect 4.
Chess and checker boards will not break as easily.
Connect 4 pieces can now be picked up easier.

Man, I really loved this mod. I think sokomine's idea of making a tiny-games-pack is also awesome.

One suggestion would be to have a button to destroy the board after it's placed. I also think the pawn model should be a little more 'delicate' (I attached an image to illustrate).

Agree about the pawn but will have to think about the destroy button. It would be good for single player but could be trouble on servers.
My thought is that on servers the owner would set up game areas. Then they can use world edit to easily remove it.

Any comment on the texture for the chess pieces? I am not happy with it and would love suggestions.

They are also bothering me, but I can't think of something. I don't think the textures are really the problem for me, but the fact that there is no shading in the models.. it's hard to tell the limit between one piece and the other

Don I could, with minimal effort convert you chess peices to mesh in Blender and do an ambient occlusion bake oin them which would give them some shading of their own and possibly help things out. I can get a sample image in the morning and texture too. Doing the full set would probably have to wait until Monday for me to have enough free time.

I threw this together real quick, there are a few problems, some faces not being set up exactly perfect, I'd have to spend a little more time fixing the mesh that was exported, and I'm limited this morning. Here's a picture of the mesh with the Ambient Occlusion baked on it, and the texture as well. I'll email you the obj and the texture. I would think you'd probably be able to mix this texture with another texture in the lua file. Please keep in mind that every style of piece would need one of these textures.

I think you have the right idea. I am deep into a project right now but will see if I can make it soon.
