I like that mese is something rare and unique in minetest, that it's a mysterious material with secret properties to be discovered. The idea of this mod is that one of this secret properties is that mese, if is in the range of action, activates the gold properties of transport. If you punch a goldblock activated you will be transported 100 blocks in a particular direction, depending on the relative position between gold and mese. I think this could help to travel long distances in short time creating some kind of hyper-highways, or mese-highways.
Update. Now if you add more mese blocks you can travel more distance! 100 blocks per meseblock.

Sounds like a very nice idea. Not as useful as my travelnet, but a great help for those servers where the admins are afraid of mods that really fascilitate travel. This mod could be a good compromise in that regard.

Thanks! That's the idea, some kind of alternative to travel. I am still learning, this mod is part of that process.

maybe a 'prerunner' to the travelnet, this is how they used mese before the tech became available for the travelnets :)Sokomine wrote:Sounds like a very nice idea. Re: [Mod] Gold-Mese Transport System [gmtransport]
Nice! I like how simple this is, just a couple of blocks of existing material laid out in a straightforward pattern. The physical location of stuff in-world still matters, which is something that annoys me about travel-nets - the world's layout loses meaning, it just becomes a bunch of addresses.
Maybe this could be enhanced by having additional mese blocks boost the teleport distance? If you've got an ocean to cross you might need four or five blocks to make it to the far shore.

Thanks for your comment! That was exactly what I was looking for, something simple and with some "rules" or "structure" in-world.
I like the enhancement idea, I will look how to add it.

I've updated the mod and now you can travel further by adding more meseblocks in the row.
Thanks FaceDeer for the idea!
