You have to use this syntax:

give <playername> <mod>:<item>

Sam, you probably want to use the grant command in place of give.

Map Tools is now in the minetest-mods organization. Here's the new GitHub link: https://github.com/minetest-mods/maptools

Note that existing clones and URLs will continue to work, as the repository was transferred.

There are many of them, it depends on what you want to do.

If you want to both block interaction and movement (a pointable and walkable node), it's maptools:fullclip. If you want to block only movement, but let players interact through it, use maptools:playerclip.

This forum suggests the readme has all the info needed. I can only find info about the mod and installing it.

I installed it to use indestructible blocks.

I think the blocks should be put into specific groups. I submitted an issue here.
I hope this is implimented! :-D

OK, so I think I have installed this correctly, but the items aren't in creative inventory, help? Also, the thread states that there is a readme.txt file, but there is only readme.md... What are the commands for giving ALL nodes in this mod? Really like this mod. How do I remove things like the invisible light block, and climbable nodes?

That's because of they are in the group "not_in_creative_inventory".
I guess, you have to change number in line 29 in the config.lua, so that they appear in the creative inventory.

A very nice mod that is useful for educational use.

I tried it out but I think there is a diference between the code at Github and you deocumentation. There are new blocks that are not in the NODES.md file mentioned!?

Looks not bad. But doesn't fit very well in Minetest Default's 16x16px-style ^^

Does not start anymore

After installing maptools, I cannot start the server anymore. I get:
