You are doing a fine job with this mod. It makes building structures more fun and interesting.

No offense but what does a grass block with grass around the whole block have to do with home decor? To me home decor is objects you place inside a house or as trim on the building. I'd say it might go into the mod that has new different types of stone and dirt (dark ages) http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3213 or one of the many new blocks mods.

@Neuromancer: I can see an argument for grass blocks for the purposes of landscaping maybe, but I don't plan to add such things to homedecor. Those are thigns best left to a dedicated landscaping mod.

Home = House + Garden - o_Ó

and the fences are for the garden too, or not? It's not cool if you have a garden and the grass disappears, that's why i asked.

Actually, the fencing is a sort of add-on meant not so much for a garden but for designating things like property lines and adding accents.

Request: Can you make it so that the containers are only accessible by their owners? Like locked chests.
EDIT: and washing machines, dishwashers, computers and venetian blinds that go from closed to open when punched :D. Washing machines and dishwashers would probably just be for storage though.

Very good mod! I seen it on Redcrab's server, and it gives MineTest a whole new level of detail and depth (combined with the furniture and stairs+ mods). Lovely work there :D

I would like to use this mod, but when I do I get glitched textures (this happens with other mods also). I'm using the following mods currently:

animated water
flamethrower
lights+
conifers
set home

The floor in this picture is suppost to be blue wool, but the texture gets messed up when I use this mod and some other ones also. Anysuggestions? A few other wool textures get messed up as well.

Put this into your minetest.conf:

Code: Select all

enable_texture_atlas = false
You may still experience glitched/missing images (especially in the inventory) from time to time. If that happens it usually helps to close Minetest and start it again.

Brilliant! Thank you!

This same trick applies to any mod or texture pack that you use that puts you over whatever the game's limit is, in fact. It's a bug in the engine's handing of the number of textures it tries to put in the atlas (IMHO, it should automatically disable the atlas and run without it when there are too many textures).

Awesome mod VanessaE! I like the TV thing. (Now my buildings will look much better)

I might add larger TVs at some point as well. I'm not 100% satisfied with just a dinky little 1m screen :D

What about adding Plasma Tv's or a Ps2/Ps3 (For decoration) Or maybe even a pantry (Used like a chest)

A flat-panel TV is planned, as is a (non-functional) digital projector. Game consoles however are not. A pantry would really just be a variation of the existing refrigerator code (which acts like a chest). Doable, but would there be a point to it?

You could use pantrys in the kitchen. Also what about a sofa?
