permadeath / hardcore mode for survival servers. Player death is permanent. However, players from the same IP address are able to log in using a different username. This purely bans the player name, and not the IP address.
Other players will see a "RIP" message with a reason why the player died.

Gee, sounds like you're going to run out of usernames fast. But quite an interesting idea. There's probably some use-cases that I can't think about.
Please don't add this to ITB ;-P

I didn't want it to make it use MT's internal ban code, since that bans all players from the same IP. That would have been 3 lines of code anyway.v-rob wrote:Gee, sounds like you're going to run out of usernames fast. But quite an interesting idea. Why not? XDv-rob wrote:Please don't add this to ITB ;-P

I think you took YOLO too seriously.
What do you think about changing "dead" into an UNIX timestamp? It would allow server owners to specify a revive time - so that players aren't gone forever.

Look, I programmed a bug for you. >> Mod Search Engine << - Mods by Krock - DuckDuckGo mod search bang: !mtmod <keyword here>
Re: [mod]yolo[yolo] permadeath - hardcore mode.
There were no `hardcore` mods in cdb, so, I thought a "simple" and understandable version would be useful to some. After all, there are a few servers that use similar methods...Krock wrote:I think you took YOLO too seriously.
But that's not the same as `hardcore` mode. I wouldn't mind doing one, but, might as well make it a separate mod that has bells and whistles, because, your sentence already begs for a tunable.Krock wrote:What do you think about changing "dead" into an UNIX timestamp? I won't mind patches, but, I think the default should remain how it operates now - permadeath.

For the singleplayer, would be cool if u die there that the world get delted.
That u cant get a way back into the world! The more you are motivated to play seriously, the more effort you need to make.Or that after demod you have no building rights more btw interact rights.
Nice idea!

That doesn't make much sense. People who want to cheat that would just not run with this mod. People who want to follow their own hardcore rules would just delete the world themselves.tomraceror wrote:For the singleplayer, would be cool if u die there that the world get delted.
This mod makes almost no sense for singleplayer mode anyway.
